I need to up my PH asap. I have flushed but pH is around 5.5-6.0

I grow in soil. I do not have PH up. What is the best to use? I was thinking of putting in PH ed water at around 7.5 and test the run off again.

Lime? Baking soda? I do not know what to buy and it must be something I can buy locally in the supermarket.

I will come with a full report in my grow log about this later today when I have done what I can for my darlings (they are not about to die, but they need my help)

Hidrated Lime for fast acting, dolomite lime takes longer to effect. These are your best options.

Also, wood-ash will help you out, but regard it is toxic to plants when abused, so use sparsingly.

Baking soda helps you raise your water pH. You can also flush the medium untill ph raises to around 6 / 6.5 with water pH'd 7. pH UP is better than baking soda because it doesn't contribute so much to the salt build-up.

EDIT: I have allready used direct tap water pH 7.9 to flush my soil and raise his pH with good results aswell. Important thing is to raise the pH to around 6.1/6.2

My god, you are a life saver.

My tap water has a PH of 6.8. I am flushing and flushing here, I am close to 6 now. I think I will use a little baking soda and finish it of with a watering with 7.5 PH just to be sure.

thank you so much.

:) No sweat. Glad I helped.

You should invest on the dolomite lime for maintenance because it also acts as a buffer, ok?

And don't forget to replenish the nutes on the soil with a half dosage on that last watering. I woud also re-introduce Mycorrhizae and fulvic and humic acids, that is, if you have them. If not it's not a big thing.

I will do all you said that I can do and I will make sure to have what I need for the next grow.

Thanks to Hugo for all this help. I really needed it.

I come up with a quick update in my grow log about the issues I had just now and will also post an update in a few days to let you all know how it turned out. :peace:
