As I reenter the autoflower family, I felt I should relay some helpful info on the dangers of Triangle Dragon pollen. Last fall I had a tent full of various strains for a Christmas harvest. Somewhere along the way I dropped 2 triangle dragon seeds just for grins. As luck would have it, both came up males. I removed them as soon as I identified sex, but apparently I missed something. I have found seeds in all of the following harvested strains.
World of Seeds Afghan Kush Rider auto
Samsara seeds El Alquimista auto
Samsara seeds El Alquimista photo
OO seeds Sweet Soma photo
Fast Buds Girl Scout Cookies auto.

This is some potent pollen. The 2 photos weren't even in the same room with the males. The first male to show was pulled and discarded and the second male was moved to a closet 25 feet and 4 closed doors away. I only checked on the male at night where as I always check the tent early in the morning. I always dressed in fresh clothes each morning to ensure lowered contamination in the tent. But, some how I missed something. And while all of these seeds were completely unexpected, I'm sure I will find something good in this mess

Oh I've got beans, and no,no hermies in the tent. I currently have 1 sweet soma photo x triangle dragon auto f1 in veg and 2 el Alquimista photo x triangle dragon auto f1 seedlings started. I expect 75% minimum of these seeds to be photos so it will take a little longer to see if these seeds have potential. Just a little detour in the trip.

So as a quick update, there are now 3 El Alquimista photo x triangle dragon auto f1 in seedling stage. Not much to look at now and once they graduate to regular pots these will go outside to finish. The Sweet Soma photo x triangle dragon auto f1 looks fantastic. Nice wide indica leaves.good Christmas tree structure beginning, great color, and I topped her yesterday. I will try to root and clone this growth tip. I'm hoping for a female and even though it hasn't sexed yet, it sure has the look of a female. But I will let her veg for a while and gain size now that she is topped. I'll flip her to 12x12 when my autos finish.. I will include some pics soon.

Another update with some general observations. The Sweet Soma photo x triangle dragon f1 is a great looking plant. Right now she is only about 12" tall with big beautiful wiiide dark green leaves, so this is definitely an indica dominant pheno. I topped the plant just above the seventh node which should give me 14 different colas. I also pulled the two tallest branches back down to even the canopy some, And as an additional sidenote, I have been slowly and selectively removing fan leaves from the sweet soma and a Herrijuana Jack 33 photo I also have running right now. Due to the longer veg period with these, they tend to get a little unruly. Since I am providing plenty of light,(900 watts rated) in a 4x4 tent, as well as ample water and organic fertilizer, I figured the plants could lose some leaves. So far it seems to be working just fine. In fact, the herrijuana (which also got topped twice to provide clones) is at somewhere around 24" now and we aren't ready for bloom yet. I have been trimming away 5 to 10 fan leaves away every couple of days and the plant is just growing along better and faster than usual. Or so it would seem. Only time and the final product will tell me whether it was worth it. The Sweet Soma is responding as well although I have only been trimming away leaves for a couple of cycles. I had to in this case, one of the sweet soma leaves was effectively shading over a quarter OF the plant. I'm talking wiiide leaves here!!!

As a general rule, I also always pinch my plants stems during growth. Just until you feel the stem begin to crush inwards. I will do this every 3 to 5 days during veg, especially while plants are in vertical growth spurts. This causes the stems to thicken and become better able to transport nutrients and hold the eventual bud weight better. It also releases some fantastic smells and this sweet soma smells great as well. I can already tell it will be sweet tasting plant,if it is a female., I'm pretty sure it's a female, but I could be wrong.
