So I germinated my seeds, blackberry moonrocks and peanut butter breath (photoperiods), in soil in those fiber cups that the roots can traveling through. I decided I wanna stick them in the dwc. Do you think I could just put the cups in the net pot with some clay balls around it and it would work? Don't want to waste time messing around

    Good luck with experiment!
Any idea how well they are rooted? I changed my mind last grow and gently uprooted the seedling, split a piece of rockwool in half and pinched the plant in between it. I didn't have very high hopes but it took off and ended up working out great. I can't say for sure though about your original question.

Yeah on Tuesday I just put the cups in the net pot a surrounded it with pebbles and turned on the dwc. Every one of them had roots sticking out the very next day. They haven't skipped a beat. Hopefully it continues this way.

Looks like they are doing fine. I would think you would be fine as long as you don't get your water level too high. If it was an RDWC system you may have concerns about the soil clogging up your pump but with just an air stone you should be OK. Only concern I can think of would be the soil molding or something like that but keep your water level below the bottom of your net pot and you should be fine.
