topping Mephisto Sour Crack auto?

Hi all,

about to plant my first two seeds, both of which are mephisto sour crack auto. Since these auto's have a relatively short grow-to-harvest time,

I was wondering if its still wise to top them? I will definitely use LST but just a bit hesitant on topping and whether or not my plants will be stunted...

Will be growing in a 4x4 tent with 1000w spyder farmer LED. no nutes, but using organic soil...

I love topping autos. But small ones like sour crack I wouldn't advise. I've topped plants in the past like Afghan kush Ryder. They just don't have enough veg time to make up for the topping. At least in my opinion. And I wouldn't even train them. In my opinion if you plan on filling that 4x4 up of recommend a 2nd light. I'd say that 1000sf is prolly good for 2.5X2.5 in flower. I hope this helps..I made the mistake early on in autos topping small plants with less than optimal light and was not happy with results. Went from one ounce autos to 4+ and some even over 6 ounces. Hope this helps. But please grow weed the way you want to grow. I've been on here enough to know there isn't just one way to do it. Have fun and would love to see some photos of sour crack. Heard she's lovely

I top 80 pcent of my plants but only if there super healthy maybe top one and leave the other

Personally, I prefer the short squat plants so when I run two of the same strain, I'll top one and let the other just do it's thing. I've found that most mephisto strains grow tall so adjusting growth is necessary for height limitations. Now, I just go ahead and top at the right stage and all is good. Still finishes the same, just with differently formed buds. I top at the 4th true node....and like the crown of buds that result.

Here's 2 photos of sour crack. Pick which way you want. If height is restricted I'd day grow a 4-6 inch trained sour crack. If want natural. Let her grow 10 to 21 inches. It's up to you. She's a small strain. I believe mephisto smallest and fastest but may be wrong.

Beautiful plants, were they topped at all? I have just begun soaking them for a few hours and will drop them into soil! Setting up the grow enviornment was fun. excited to start this journey, may have to start a grow diary too

These are not my plants. I was just using them as an example. But both are sour crack. It's definitely fun and exciting watching your ladies and plants grow. Any questions don't hesitate to ask on here. Please give me a tag in your journal if you start one. I have a 2x2 tent I've been debating turning it into a sour crack or 24 carat type plant tent and grow 2 to 4 in it lol.

I don't think they need to be topped. I've grown a couple and didn't top them. I did defol fairly heavily though.

Nice! What did you get off those little ladies. My 24 carat was small but yielded heavy for size.

Looks like I never weighed them, or forgot to post it if I did. They were very dense though.
