I'm close to harvest on a few of my plants but a couple of them are ALOT bushier in the middle and towards teh bottom are alot of useless foilage and buds that won't do much at the end.

So should I cut this stuff off so more nutrients and energy can be used towards the more productive parts of the plants?

once i left the bush you can see what i want to cut. all those little buds and some inner leafs

TO CUT OR NOT TO CUT? POLL STARTS TODAY AND ENDS SATURDAY MIDNIGHT! AT WHICH POINT I WILL SNIP OR NO SNIP!

From the looks of it, you have quite a bit of time left before chopping, but that's just me. Maybe a senior guy here can chime in.

Aloha

Lol this plant has another month before the harvest I'm talking about the inner crap that won't amount to much i call them leach nugs cus they make the cola tip smaller if there there. at least Danny Danko recommends to cut the inner leafs and the useless buds so that the main bud on the branch cna get bigger. but since this is an auto i know things can be different. so this is why i ask

Chunky colas are cool for bag appeal, but I've found that the lower buds smoke just as nice. :smoke:

I guess the question is which would be more detrimental to the main cola - the plant sending resources to the smaller buds or the shock of all that growth being cut off? Autos grow so fast and don't have much time to recover from shock, so I don't like to ever remove anything that's still growing.

^^ Yessir, listen to this man he speaks the truth. If the lower buds (not popcorn white pistil ones) get minimal love they'll still smoke good just not be much in weight.

chop off the feeder leaves your talking about.... (large leaf) and leave the inner leaves next to the bud intact for butter or hash. I have 5 harvests worth of that delicious trim sitting in a freezer just aching to get into a bubble bag.

Let It be buddy. I'm sure she's gonna be good to you either way

I'm like most above, and leave mine alone....when I harvest, I usually just throw all my small lower buds in a common drying screen...and label the jar POPS...it's fun to get the POPS jar out and try to figure out what we're actually smoking!

i feel you there and its a good decision but i suggest you start cutting out those large fan leaves a lot earlier as they are just sapping strength from your buds. plus they shade them from better light coverage.
