Just had a good grow of 4 anglematic and 3 devilmatic with 400w hps in ff oceanforest and nutes now in drying.my room temp stayed around 76 deg.and humidity stayed around 55 to 60 degrees,my question is if i go to a 1000w system will my temps and humidity go to high that i will have to take corrective measures.i would like to grow more plants and bigger buds without the cost of more equipment,to control those problems. Thanks

The 1000 watter will generate a lot more heat than the 400. So it will depend on the size of your area and your ventilation as to whether you can handle the increase or not. Assuming you have to buy a new 1000 watt fixture, I would suggest looking at a cool tube. They remove heat better than standard type reflectors.

whats your grow area?

I personally use a 400w and also own a 1000w system....and YES, the 1000watter will be a lot more heat to handle...even if it's a cool tube....so YES...more bud energy is gonna prob need more equipment to offset the heat...

agito--my grow room is 12foot by 12foot a second floor room in my domain,it maintaind those temps.and hum.with the 400w system, eventough it's winter here in the mtns.

well if you wanted to fill that area 1000w is going to be a must if not to small lol
a hood with an extraction outlet would be a good idea

I would want 4x600w in that space or 2x600w on light movers

i would expect you would be ok in winter but summer you will be pushing it

i bet another 15f increase but its total guess work

I take it you do have extaction/intake to suit a 12x12 grow

yes my grow room is 12x12 but i'am only looking to grow maybe 10 to 15 plants to make ends meet, is it worth it to go to 1000w's?

I would run 2 400's and in the summer, cut back to one light. Those 1000's put off a lot of heat that will need to be vented out.

I am using 2 X 400 watts in reflectors plus over 450 watts in CFL for side lighting in a 4.5 X 9 foot tent. The reflectors are cooled by my 6 inch inline fan and ported right out the window while the CFLs are not cooled directly... This produces temps around 85 degrees with no AC or compensation besides the circulation. I believe more smaller lights are more efficient than one single large blaster.... just my :2cents:

thanks for all the advice, I think i'llbe looking at another 400w or a 600w , GOOD SMOKE
