I'm thinking about going from a viparspecta 600 to a platinum advanced 300. If you've experience with these to lights do you think it would be a worthwhile upgrade. Any thoughts?

Hey @Damien2003gt
It's certainly a nice light but what size area are you covering?
Here's some different suggestions for a 4x4... I've based these on the same budget as an P300 but I'd be more inclined to go HLG or COBs for that budget:

If you're a dab hand at DIY you could get 2 x 4 packs of the QB132 V2 (8 boards total).
If you're wanting simpler solution go for 4 x QB288 V2's.
Both of the above would also need drivers.

COBSHOP 3x3 special (4 COBs) is slightly over the P300 price but I've seen people killing it with less of his COBs in the same area. @BigSm0 is your man to talk to about them.

Bare in mind 420 is just around the corner too so there's likely to be some great deals on lighting around then :d5:

If budget isn't an issue..
Get more COBs
or...
4 x QB96 Elite V2's
or...
ChilLED Logic Puck V2 4x4 kit (I'm bias... I just bought this one to replace 2 x V600's)

One cob will do the trick. (Afn5) works for a member discount.

There are lots of different ways to get to the promise land. There are quite a few a P300 growers on AFN that have see a ton of success in growing some super dank and tasty Autos on this site. I'd encourage you to check them out as well. Here is a link to the platinum page:

The P300 covers a 3'x2' really well for flowering. You can use the AFN18 code as well for a discount.

We wish you the frostiest and dankest autos no matter what light you choose. Happy growing!

Hi Damien, Unfortunately, the code is not valid when purchasing through Amazon. We do ship to Canada, but there is a $30 USD shipping charge.....Sorry!

I have been using the Platinum P 300 and absolutely love it. I’ve pushed it with 3 plants in 3 gallon buckets and it worked great. Had this light going on 3 years.

That is great news just goes to show if you take care of something it should last and last it should go another ten easy.
