Hi. I'm making a journal to keep a record of my grow and pick up some tips because I am a beginner who is growing for personal smoke.
I appreciate any help I can get along the way.

Seeds:
  • Think Different (Sprouted June 14th)
  • Auto Blackberry Kush (Sprouted June 22nd)
  • Auto Blueberry (Sprouted June 27th)

Growing Medium:
  • Soil. Cheap $2 bags of some all-purpose soil(only thing I have access to), added some perlite that I had.
  • 10 litre fabric pots

Equipment and Environment:
  • 3x3x7 grow tent from China.
  • 3x 180w UFO LED's from China. (about 100w draw each I think)
  • Lights on 24/7.
  • 6' inch intake fan sucking air out of tent attached to a carbon filter.(both from China also)
  • Tent ventilation flaps are open for intake air.
  • Southeast Asia very hot temperatures.
  • Grow tent temperatures are 29-38 degrees Celsius, RH 40%-70%.
  • Currently rainy season so high humidity in tent. 70% for past few weeks
Nutrients:
Advanced Nutrients
  • Grow Micro Bloom
  • B-52
  • Voodoo Juice
  • Piranha
  • Sensizym
  • Rhino Skin
  • Sensi Cal-Mag Xtra
  • Big Bud
  • Overdrive
  • Bud Factor X
  • Carboload
Tent:
4 plants in the tent but this journal is focused on the 3 youngest plants.
Top left: Blueberry plant (Day 80) Harvesting in a few days. [Spent first 8 weeks in terrible conditions with no tent]
Top right: Think Different (Day 45)
Bottom left: Blackberry Kush (Day 37)
Bottom right: Blueberry (Day 32)

Blackberry Kush: Day 37
  • Giving trouble since birth
  • Small slow growth.
  • Always looking weak and sick. I almost threw the plant in the garbage
  • Leafs feel more rubbery then my other plants leafs that feel smoother
  • Slumpy leafs for the first 4 weeks
  • Cal-Mag Def and slight nutrient burn on lower leafs
  • Very small for it's age imo

Blueberry: Day 32
  • Slight Cal-Mag or Nutrient burns
  • Started strong with good growth and outgrew the Blackberry Kush plant which is 5 days older than this plant

Thank Different: Day 45.
  • Started putting flowering nutrients today.
  • During week 2 it didn't grow at all. Must have been stunted for that week.
  • Had gotten Cal-Mag Deficiency during week 4 and lost 2 big fan leaves.
  • Plant seems shorter than I expected but impressive branch growth

I bet they will get twice that size in a another month. I had 5 plants in a 4x4 tent and it was hard to reach the ones in the back.
I live in a humid climate as well (70-80% in the early morning) but we have central air so it stays around 50% humidity in my tent.
I was worried about high humidity if the air conditioner broke or the power went out. I looked around and found an article on making a simple dehumidifier. I was not worried about the vegetative stage having increased humidity but when the buds got dense toward harvest and after harvest. They can get moldy. So I got some buckets with lids and some rock salt just in case.

"I found an easy, inexpensive way to make a dehumidifier. Get two 5- or 6-gallon buckets with lids from the local hardware store (or inquire at a restaurant, which may have empty lard buckets you can get for free). New or used, clean them well. At the hardware store, get a 50-pound bag of rock salt and divide it between the buckets. With the lids off, place the loaded buckets inside the motorhome, one forward and one in the rear. When not in use, put the lids on tightly and store. When the rock salt becomes saturated with moisture, spread it out on a piece of plastic and dry it in the sun. Store it in the sealed buckets until the next use. It should last far years. I've used this method since 1937 and have not had a mildew problem." I haven't tried it yet; but I will probably go this method myself. Seems to be pretty easy and requires zero power... :)

Update.
No LST on these plants
Plants look good for now. The tent it pretty crowded, didn't expect them to get so wide.
The plants had to take some heat stress suffering with a couple mishaps.
What I noticed was the temperatures were down to 29-30 for week or more with high humidity and then temperatures suddenly went to 36-37 with medium humidity and looked like they were going to die. I went to water my plants when I usually do and noticed them slumped down looking terribly heat stressed and thirsty, the Think Different leafs looked like claws. They had been in the higher temperatures before but I think the sudden rise and change almost gave them a lot of heat stress.
They recovered quickly but some claw looking leafs are damaged on TD, because of this I started watering more often.

I think I may have started bloom / flowering nutrients too late on the Blueberry and Blackberry Kush as the budding look far behind what they should be for their age.

Youngest to oldest plant:

Blueberry: Day 46
- 62 cm tall
-I see a lot of of bud sites on this plant all over the branches.
-Blueberry is the healthiest looking plant out of the 3 and easiest to manage.
-Good resistance to heat stress compared to the other 2 plants.

Blackberry Kush: Day 51
- 70cm tall, tallest plant out of the 3
- Long spaced out branching, kind of lanky with not very many bud sites. For my next grow I will try using Bud Ignitor
- Not very bushy, this has the least amount of leafs.
- Plant seems to be be flowering very slowly.

Think Different: Day 58
- 59 cm
- Buds look like they are going to be very big
- The branches are long and strong
- Looking overheated, leafs are kind of bent out of shape

Question: Should I clip off the ugly yellow leafs at the bottom of the plant or do I let them fall off own their own?

If these plants survive until harvest and finish on time I will have enough time to finish another grow before Christmas, just in time to smoke some new buds for the holiday. :smokeit:

I'm planning ahead and checking out what strains to try next grow.
I have TD and BB seeds left that I can do but I think it will be more interesting to have different strains.

For the next grow I would like 1 Sativa, 1 Indica and 1 Hybrid.
I will try more from DP or World of Seeds.

So many to choose from. :baked:

yea it should just fall right off. Make sure you try Black berry kush auto from Dutch Passion

The 2nd plant here is Blackberry Kush from DP, it has a kind of coffee smell to it.
The TD has a very sharp pine smell right now if I touch it, but the buds smell like honey and stink

I'm taking a look at Auto Euphoria and some others for my next grow.
