how do u guys feel about people using your strain u created change the name and sell it as their own ?

do u notice theres alot of autos that have the same strains with different names

if i created a strain id be afraid people would take or copy it what do u think ?

i feel for some breeders im intrested in what u guys think

Are you talking take a strain, don't cross it with anything and just resell it under a different name? If so thats CRAP!!!

i am sure that happens...which is kind of sad...i personally would never take another persons product and claim it...but fortunately i have permission from the last pruchase i made, from the breeder, to reproduce as many seeds as i can....of course i would not change the name or sell them as my inventions...but will grow the daylights out of them, give some to friends who need them and even sell them if someone wanted some, but to say, 'hey look what i did." when i did not do it seems kind of stupid to me.

Some breeders don't disclose their genetics, or very little. Personally, as an upcoming breeder, I wouldn't tell everyone exactly what I crossed and did to get the strain that I want, but provide some details. I wouldn't want anyone to just be able to try and do the same thing. Because honestly it wouldn't be the same. For instance you picked a strain that's from x and y strain combined. You can't simply just take x and y and cross them and expect it to be that strain, it isn't like that. Even if you knew what it was made of you would have to grow them and select the same phenos and make the same damn crosses that the breeder did, which is highly unlikely.

Anyway... I just hope for people like myself. Who want to be honest breeders. Sure we might not tell you exactly what's in it, but you just have to trust us that we didn't just take someone else's strain and rename it, or that we didn't just take two and make one cross and name it and roll with it, that isn't a new strain, different sure but it take more than that.

true bro good answer i really wonder what goes on

i would think that many breeders see it as necessary, unless you are chasing down pure untouched wild MJ strains from across the globe then you are using other peoples genetics yourself, only fair they can use yours if they are good enough.

any future strains bred from theirs will have their strain listed in its genetics too. free advertising.
as said aswell no one will get the same strain by just looking through the genetic heritage.

So true. It takes a lot of selecting for the desired traits, back crossing, and inbreeding to get a stable strain.

Unfortunately, it happens all the time. Just ask Wiz or Stitch. Both have had their genetics ripped off, copied and are now being sold under different names. It's the main reason many breeders are only selling fems. Personally I wouldn't claim something as my own unless I had breed it to full stability and then I would list the primary genetics and credit the original breeders. I believe the unwritten rule is at least F5 and fully stable before you can call it your own.

IMO If you have paid for the seed....you own it, you own the rights to do what ever you want with it... NOW as for educate... F-ing anyone gear is poor educate. But why F-it when you could cross it and call it your own... AND be totally up front about it. Then there is no shame.

Forgive me for asking, but can you give any examples of this so I (and the rest of us) know to stay away from those seeds banks. If that's not the kind of information you feel comfortable disclosing then I understand and sorry for asking.
