Ah, so frustrating when you can't get the seeds to start. I had a run like that a couple months ago, and like you said, normally near 100% success rate.
I read something and I can't remember who to attribute it to but, they said something along the lines of tap water and variable chlorine rates due to seasonal changes. The change, usually increase, in chemical level would kill the seed as soon as it cracked. I tried using RO water instead of tap water and was right back in business. Just a thought.
