Working on making a Auto DJ short Flo.
For some of you, you understand how amazing Flo can be!

I picked up 2 clones. Grew one out for my use and the other to cross.
It was crossed with my jet47 x amnesia male.
I'm seeing balls about 3 weeks after they where planted. So I may have a very early flower or auto flower on F1. All plants are run under 24/7 light.

I have 2 more seeds that are a few days old going now in hopes that I can get a female or 2.

Ill be picking out my male in a few weeks and my female around that time too.
I hope I will see some full autos in F2. Around F3 or F4 I am going to back cross
again with a fresh breaders pack DJ Short Flo seed!
My wish is to come up with something that is close.
Really looking to make a good DJ Short Auto Flo!

this sounds like a great strain/project to be doing

with photo plants early/auto flowering males are somewhat common compared to females especially if they get root bound or are in low light , not saying your conditions are like that , just mentioning that males can do this , my advice would be to watch for and work with the females that are fast or auto and use any male that shows promis towards as many or all traits you want to see , if they themselves auto , great , if not i wouldnt worry because like you said , your going f2 , 3 , 4 etc

good luck and im looking forward to seeing this come to life as an auto

peace

Thanks man. This will be a long drawn out thread. I hope I can be like some amazing members here and new comers can take from.
Its going to be a fun ride!

The 2 males are in 1 gal pots. Started under t5's, when they showed sex moved under the 1000w HPS for about a week. Back under the t5's because of all the balls that are showing up.
Its the earliest male with the most parts I have seen for a photo.
If the do auto, from the reading I have done, it would be rare in F1.

Should I back cross at F3 with the Flo again and rework them?
So many traits to work back in, oly found in good DJ Short phenotypes.

Hank... if you know flo and can tell that flo is with you threw generations a bx is up to you. At f2 you can find autos but select for flo if you want flo because if you just grab the first two autos you find, you may lose any resemblance to flo thru 2 or 3 generations. Its nearly impossible to breed more than 1 trait in small #s. If you grow out 10 F1 cross seeds you might only get one female who resembles a good flo "type" parent, and if she sucks for potency, then back-up.

the info cres just gave is awesome

i do what i can and get what i can (pheno/trait wise) until im full auto , then i back cross to the original photo plant and start all over again working to full auto , then if need be id do that all over again until im happy and full auto , ive got an auto kush i cant tell the difference from the photo plant i started with , it took 3 years or so and im still not completely happy , i cant exactly say i cant tell the difference , in flowering i see minor differences and smelling it from the jar and smoking it i find minor differences , but while vegging or early flowering they are twins

peace

Cracked a Guinness and reclining in the chair for this ride.
Subbed!
Looking forward to seeing this as it happens.
Thanks for sharing Hank.
