Mephisto Genetics Test Run - Walter White BX1 (reboot)

Germination
  • Ok I didn't see a spot for a threadmark on the initial post so I've marked this second one and here are the pics

Day 1: 6/27 - Sprouted and standing tall. Jiffy Pellet soaked with RO and SeaKelp at 7.3pH to buffer the acidic nature of the peat pellet. Already planted into the airpot of coco. DynoMyco was mixed into the coco ahead of time and a small layer put under the pellet.

I presoaked the entire pot with about a gallon of seedling/clone nute solution at ~360ppm. I added 1g/gallon of SeaKelp which brought the mix to about ~475ppm. After running the gallon through the runoff ppm was ~500 and that's pretty close to input. Plus the water was still cloudy from the coco dust rinsed through.

    Overnight surprise!

    Early Flower
  • Day 36: Start of week 6

Very nice changes from last week to this week. Definitely early flower at this point. Somewhere between day 29 and 36 the pom poms started showing.

Two tall central branches with some nice side branches hanging out.

    Late Flower
  • Mid-week 9: Day 59 - Just a hair off schedule, I usually like to hit the start of the week but I am off a couple days due to life.

Really nice changes in the last 9 days. Added a visible amount of trichomes.

    Harvest
  • Day 71: Harvest! Did a quick trichome color check with the USB microscope and decided it was time to chop. Lovely plant, easy grow, and it definitely liked the nute push straight through.

Grow thoughts: Gorgeous lightly pink/purple flowers, encrusted with trichomes, a strong fruity pebbles scent, most buds are heavy and clustered around the ends of the branches. It absolutely needs good airflow and low RH% through flowering. I kept mine at 58-60% RH and it should have been lower. I did get a bit of bud rot on one single cola only. There was plenty of airflow but the density of these flowers is going to need low RH as well.

@stan_mephisto - Thank you so much for the ability to grow these out. Absolutely fantastic. I will update with a final weight and some nicely trimmed up bud pics for you. I am also going to re-run the OldSchoolMangoHaze very shortly. (Tomorrow actually!)

Even the side branches are heavily laden with flowers. No training here, just let the weight pull them out!

And the only problem I had. This was one of the top colas that was definitely exposed to the oscillating circulator fan. This is the only spot on the entire plant and I used a very critical eye after seeing it on the first branch I took. I am quite surprised to have found this:
