Jim has asked that I post a message from him to all the testers. He is asking for a summary of all your test grows. If you could post them in this thread so they are all in one location, it would be greatly appreciated.

Jim has also given the go ahead to send your additional prize seeds for participating in this grow. I'm looking at rain here on Thursday so will take that opportunity to start packing them up and will try to have them in the mail by the weekend.

My thanks to everyone who has participated in this test grow.

Message from Jim:

Dear all, thank you all for your hard work on testing these strains for me. This is old stock that was produced for me by the ‘breeder Stitch’ last year and I had concerns about its stability and reliability after many problems with his genetics not auto-flowering.

I was never going to sell any of these strains but I thought they might be usable for free gifts or competition prizes so I wanted to ascertain if any of the old stock I have does auto-flower and is 100% female.

It seems from most of your grows that the results have been as expected – genetically unstable..

It would be great if I could get a summary from each of you in this thread so I know exactly what happened with each strain.

If you could complete the following info it would be very useful:

Strain name:
Number of seeds:
Germination rate:
Did they auto:
What day did they auto:
Were they female:
How long did they take to finish:
Yield:
Smoke quality:
Your overall opinion/comments:

Everyone who has been involved in this test will be receiving some more seeds from muddy which are updated versions of our existing strains and should be much more fun to grow!

Thanks again for all your help!

Cheers
JIM

I will post tonight after work

Strain name:
Onyx

Number of seeds:

4

Germination rate:
50%

Did they auto:
one yes, one no

What day did they auto:
day 28

Were they female:
yes both

How long did they take to finish:

one chopped at day 65 as no development seen. One still in flower and looks to have 30 days left

Yield: N/A

Smoke quality:
Good. Nice head buzz, good pain relief, moderate stone/couchlock. lasts about 1.5 hours

Your overall opinion/comments:

Given the looks of the last plant, I'll try growing more of these, they look to have potential. It may not have auto'd due to the issues with my water, I don't know. The other plant auto'd but was badly damaged by my water so stats on her are not meaningful. The smoke seems pretty good, looking forward to smoke testing this last plant that’s nice and healthy. I can't state a judgement on these based on the issues I had that were not the fault of the plants. As I have a few seeds left, I'll grow them out so that I can have a better personal opinion.

Strain: Russian Rocket fuel

Number of seeds: 1

Germ rate: 100%

Did they auto: no

Where they female: yes

How long did they take to finish: n/a

Yield: n/a

Smoke quality: n/a

Overall opinion: she grew like a monster, but she kept on growing without flowering. So i switch to 12/12 and after just a few days she sexed. I thought maybe i jumped the gun so i switched back to 18/6. After about 4 more weeks of zero production i chopped her.

I really wished i would have left her in 12/12 because the smell was amazing even without flowers. She grew with ease. Can't wait to run the rest of them after my c99 are done.

Thanks to muddy and Jim for opportunity, been a wonderful experiance and i hope to do so again.

Here's my summary :)
My grow is still in process. I figure I have 30-40 days on mine, before they're done.

Strain name: Super Cali Haze H2 and H4 seed sets.
Number of seeds:
2 of each were popped, simultaneously.
Germination rate:
Both H4 germed/grew; one H2 germed, and I almost pulled the other. Glad I didn't, as it is a beautiful, 2 "main stemmed" Lady.
Did they auto:
Yes, all 3 viables autoflowered.
What day did they auto:
Day 52-53 from popping soil.
Were they female:
Yes. All 3 viables are fems, and no herming a/o day79- today.
How long did they take to finish:
They aren't finished. I expected a long flower period, from the internet research I did on these genetics. I expect they'll go for another 4-5 weeks before done, but they ARE bulking up, slowly, as a sativa super auto would.
Yield:
I'll say this... The 49 inch tall stick Lady will pull no less than 3 oz, from the bud sets on her! Each of my 3 are distinct in their structure, but all are VERY bud laden.
Smoke quality:
I can't wait to answer this one :)
Your overall opinion/comments:
So, I was expecting "anomalies".. And, the H2 genetics provided some excitement. One of the H2 seeds popped soil, instantly keeled over and passed.. The other, still viable, looked like a genetic freak for the first 4 weeks- I almost pulled it 2-3 times, but at week 5, she just took OFF! An amazing, thoroughly interesting experience to see her overcome (?) whatever troubles she has earlier. She is a work of canna art :) The H4s were pretty much normal throughout, save for the long period to flower, and each is a different structure. H4.1 is a 49" tall stick, with incredible bud growth on most all of her branches! When mature, the "top cola" will be nearly 24" long, and likely 4" diameter of pure bud- amazing!
Since I don't know the backstory on these genetics- the "why was it in question" parts, I reckon I was expecting something pretty bad. Clearly, the H2 genetics have problems. Each seed was given identical care, yet one H2 seemed to wither without cause. And, the other WAS a genetic miscreant for all of its youth!lolol
The H4 genetics are a THRILL! While expecting nightmares, these prove to be vigorous, and true to ideal "spec", from my research. Indeed, once they preflowered, I was giddy, realizing that I was very likely experiencing a first hand grow of some of stitches finer work. All the unfortunate realities aside, THAT has to be a thrill for any passionate grower.. To be granted the joy of growing out some pinnacle genetics, from a widely known grower such as stitch. End.Fanboi.gurgle.... lolol
To JIM :)
Thank you for letting us AFN peeps enjoy these experiences. For me, it was far more than I could have hoped/expected. Best to you and the SS folks moving forward. Methinks these "thank you" genetics are going to make me a SS fan, in quick order!
Namaste

Strain name:

Super Stinky (super auto)

Germination rate:

3/7, 43% (only 2/3 survived though)

Did they auto:

Yes, both

What day did they auto:

Day 30/31

Were they female:

Yes, both

How long did they take to finish:

Currently still growing on day 63 today, on track
for a super-auto

Yield:

TBD

Smoke quality:

TBD

Your overall opinion/comments:

Grows well, and no problems with flowering. Main issue is poor germination. I believe pack labeled SST2 is more viable than that labeled SST4,
but not enough stability and confidence to say they should be used for freebies/prizes/etc. Expecting harvest to be of good quality, so far I'm satisfied

Mine are still going. I'll get the info together and fill in the blanks shortly. I am enjoying my grow. They seem to be a good ways away from done but when they are it should be sweet.

Strain name:
AA1 auto assasign

Number of seeds:
12 (only 7 went to harvest)

Germination rate:
100%

Did they auto:
11 of 12

What day did they auto:
day 21

Were they female:
yes

How long did they take to finish:
65 -69 days (seed to harvest)

Yield:
4 in soil 97.9 grams total
3 in hydro nft 104.3 grams total

Smoke quality:
7 day dry time - smooth with a piney / earthy flavor. More of a body high...it didnt last too long ( <1hr)
Im sure a 4-8 week cure would be beneficial to the overall effect

Your overall opinion/comments:
Lost a lot of weight in the 7 day drying. Buds seemed more airy than compact and dense.
4 plants in soil ranged in height from 14" to 29" (5gl smartpots)
Large main cola with decent side buds. This was my first experience with a ak47 hybrid....in my opinion it was a swing and miss....just not my cup o' tea.
