Hi all
Where I am it's been quite cold at night and hot during the day. My plants are in a shed so exposed to the climate.. I have been running 18 on 6 off . The lights off has been 10am to 4pm the hottest part of the day so when it's cold at night at least the lights keep the temps up. The problem is it's hotter during lights out than lights on. Is this bad? Normally lights out is colder. There is about a 6 degree Celsius change between lights out and on.at the moment temps are around 23 Celsius on and 27 off.
Would I be better to run lights during the hot time probably 30 Celsius and put lights off at cold time probably 18 Celsius. Will having hotter temps at lights out negatively effect results.i don't want to run heaters or a.c.... thanks for help

Id say put bigger lights and get your tent hotter while lights on.. try to make on and off temps same

I have plenty of light for my grow.. I want to not waste electricity. Hence no a.c or heaters.

I'd be more worried about an rH change than the heat change. If the rH is stable, no worries, many keep their lights off during the hottest time.

Hm yeah that's sufficient.. I was talking about using an HPS..

+1 on Arthur's post, plants can grow in 23c as well as 30c but 70% humidity once flower...bro that's mould.. i'd run 24\7 lights on just to not let it get to 90% when lights off... you need massive air circulation.. best to get a dehumidifier though...

The rh hangs around 55%..at lights on and lights out. not really a problem.. my main question is does it effect the plant if temps are hotter at lights out? Changed the lights last night to 2am to 6am off. Temps got down to 17c. Will get up to 28c today at around 2pm. If i do lights out 12-4pm ... Temps will be 22c at coldest but still about 26c at lights out... which is best?

Coolest at night better so first option .... Humidity under 50% better and good air movement- denser the bud - more opportunity for mold ....

Higher daytime temps, add some co2!
