the cooler the better for drying buds... you want it at a cool temp so they can dry as a slower rate... having the temps high will cause them to dry much to fast resulting in a hey type smell and taste to your buds
65-70 is fine for drying...I dry mine in my home where I keep temps in that range......I built a large closed tub with a 120mm fan drawing air accross the buds and pushing the exhaust into my tent where the carbon filter handles all odors......you'll still get a hay-like smell but curing will bring those good smells back if done correctly...good luck!
I like the fact you're using the whole plant mass this will slow the de-hydration time and starches will be broken down into sugars in the process. However if you choose to dry in the light then you'll likely enhance the chloroform concentration.. Placing the product in darkness to dry will lead to decomposition of the chloroform - this will lead to a smooth cure and help eliminate undesirables
