I have been running 24/0 lights on my auto...would it be a bad idea to switch to 20/4 or 18/6? I am currently in week 5. I'm trying to get off the 24/0 schedule for good

I think it would be a good idea to change from 24/0 to 20/4....saves a few hours on bulb life....gives the plants some down time and might save a few cents worth of power

Know someone who has some "autos" that didn't autoflower when they were about 55 days old. He had to change light from 18/6 to 12/12. And 2-3 days after the switch, pre-flowers start forming.

And yes you will save more than a few cents by cutting off the light for now 6-8 hours.
It's seems like it'd be a good idea to give the plants some down time..even if its 4 hours. Not sure if that's true, but a little rest never hurt anyone. :)

I've got MASSIVE autoflowers growing right now under 18/6 600w HPS...I run photos also, they need 18/6, but the autos seem just fine under that.

What about when those photots need the 12/12 for flowering? You just leave the flowering autos under the 12/12, too?

Yup! It doesn't seem to do a whole lot, really, because I have a heck of a lot of light in my tent. 12 hours of 600w at 8" away is a massive amount of light.

Thanks, I was just making sure they wouldnt herm on me. I'll switch to 18/6 or 20/4 hopefully it will help achieve a better grow
