Hey guys, and gals, I'm a photosensitive grower looking to get into the auto world. I've been informed by various ppl about autos and am looking for the real word from those that grow them. I'm curious about topping, fimming, LSTing, and anythIng else your willing to teach me. I'm using a 4ft X 8 bulbs T5 set up. Probably using a mixture of grow/ bloom bulbs unless told otherwise. What breeders have the best germ rate? Been told that auto seeds are quite finicky when it comes to germInating. Need some recommendations for strains too. Would love to order thru Dutch-Passion but they don't ship to USA, so I'll prob be using attitude seedbank. That's it for now. Take care all!

Topping, Fimming Defoliation and most photo period trickery other than some light training (Lst) is generally not recommended for first auto grows.
As Autos are on a life and death timer, any stress caused to them can affect the end result.
Saying that, over the past years, Autos are getting more hardy, and there will be experienced auto growers doing some of these things to some of the latest stains with success.
I've never had a problem germinating any canna seed. I don't think Autos are less likely to germ than photos.
Dutch passion are a great choice for reliability and quality, the attitude stock them too!

Welcome to AFN Deadphish. Fellow photo grower here as well. You will enjoy the autos as I do myself from time to time. Very quick plants but quite a bit trickier to grow than photos. You are correct, they are much finickier. Do some reading in the New Growers stickys and you should be on your way to much success.
