I wonder....

What is the function of the sugar leaves?
May I steal them? I want to smoke them...

I'm not 100% sure but I beleve they shade the buds from the suns uv rays.If they have enough trychomes you could smoke some but how strong they will be depends if there fully mature or not and keep in mind they won't be cured or dryed so they might be a little harsh.

A friend of mine growing photos inside, use to trim the sugar leavs off the buds 2-3 weeks before harvest. They give a nice buzz. He say If the bud are the espresso, the sugarleaves is like caffee late.

I use the sugar leaves for hash or bho. After my current grow i will make a topical of it.

Okay...I will be nice boy and not smoke them until I trim the buds. But if the get yellow and die while the cola is still maturing, I take them. I need as many THC molecules as possible.

You can smoke them but it's sort of a waste before harvest as they will taste like shit and not be very potent.

I also use my harvest trim for hash or oil.

But having said that, if it's your first grow you won't be able to resist anyway (we've all done it) so just go for it and see what you think.

I got a reasonable return kiefing my sugar leaf trim and the stuff hit like powdered scissor hash. Have just been storing it up since mixed with all my popcorn for when i run dry on nugs, which is just about to happen with 3-4 weeks left to harvest am gonna be real happy i kept it.

Here is a old thread i posted on the low tech method i used, good only for small amounts of trim.
