 Last Monday Morning I soaked some Purple Jem seeds Tuesday at lunch I put them puppies in between some wet paper towels Friday mornin I just saw they had white nubs of a root popping out and I had to leave for 3 days very unexpectedly. So I had a jiffy box set up for tomatos, and set the seeds white nub down in the Jiffy Puck that had expanded because it was pre moistened with my RO h2o that I had ph'ed at 7.0 and covered a bit put the dome on em put them under a nice old 2 bulb flouro 30 lamp in a lil nook and left. I expecting to see something when I go home today. I got nothing :help: Average Temp was 83 I feel like idiot. I fear I killed them all.

hmmmm.... well ph 7.0 water should be ok for seedlings... ideally you want soil ph at 6.3-6.5 they prob dryed out too much in your ab-sensi... :)

its best to start them directly in unferted soil (like promix BX or something)

its early days yet

Nope didnt dry out :-( I didnt know the lil pucks had any nutes in em I thought they were just peat.

Maybe they soaked too long and drowned.

Maybe to wet and warm and the root got mushy and died. I would wait a couple days and then dig a seed out and look at it.

Hmn I did go a bit past 24 hrs.... is 24 hrs a hard and fast rule?

24 hours shouldnt have been bad... i think it maye have to do with lack of moiture maintenance and the 83 degrees... a tad warm IMO for seed starts//

:smokebuds:
