So, I'm late into flower on a Northern Lights auto grow and developed a spider mite problem (indoor grow). After I was sure what the problem was, I vacuumed all 3 plants and then used Trifecta Crop Control on them. So far it seems to have worked. I also sprinkled Diatomaceous Earth on them while I waited for the Trifecta.

I didn't have this problem last grow. The only thing that changed was opening a new bag of FFOF. My question is do you think the mites would survive the cold of winter (stored in the garage, cold)? Would you chance using it again and maybe mix some DE into the FFOF and top dress or just chuck the soil altogether?

I hate to throw out the soil but if I don't have a sure cure, it's not worth the hassle.

Thanks!

btw, these are 109 days from seed, trichomes milky but no amber to speak of.

I’d bet it’s the dirt, same thing happened to me but it was a bag of roots. You can bake that dirt in the oven to kill off the mites. Look up pasteurization, I do it for mycology sometimes. I’d buy a couple hot shots and hang them in your room/tent. They won’t make the ones that are already there leave but it will make any new guests not want to be there.
