Hi Guys

So I'm yet to successfully get a grow off the ground. I'm growing under led but have tried 3 different lights miles up above the plants (rules out bleaching) I'm growing in DWC it looks like some kind of deficiency. Pretty sure it's not mg as I've been using cal/mag and my newest plants have started to turn. My ph is spot on 5.8 (I do have a cheap ph meter but I've dipped it in 7ph buffer and it's spot on) ec is correct to what it should be using formulex. Yet still this keeps happening. My starting ec is .4 which I think is common is the UK. I read somewhere that too much calcium can cause a nitrogen dificiency. The water down here is quite chalky wonder if that could be causing it?

The leaves turn pale green and go yellow from the bottom towards the tips. And the plant just doesn't really get growing.

Any thoughts or answers? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How oxygenated is your DWC? Are the roots making it to your water? How do the roots look?

agree with above.. clueless but check that you're getting bubbles.. i'd also try moving the lights down real close...

What kind of grow room is it in? Some of the older tents cause off gassing that can turn them yellow. Do you use filtered water?

that looks like too much cal / mag way too early.... flush and run just veg nutes...

heres a general guide...

what i mean is that not all autos are the same lol
I have been growing the same genetic line for over a year now
and they all seem like they really like my fert schedule.

This is what i doi break it down as follows

First off let me talk about what i use as ferts. I have a 4 part system that i use and most of this is in the brain so please bare with me as i share this one.

I use FF grow big (hydro formula) Tiger Bloom and then two tea variations. One is high in N for veg and the other is high in Phosphorus when its time to flower.
I apply these through out the grow. I use the FF to get it started.
then i move to the teas and then back to the FF and then back to the teas

So i break it down like this:
FF GB is 3Tbsp/1Gal for heavy feedings. So in my mind this is more than enough for our fave friends. So it states that 2tbsp/1gal is for normal feedings so i use this as my base number. After that i break it down into 1/4

at 7 days i start like this
Day 7 1/4 dose to a gal
Day 14 1/2 dose to a gal + 8oz of N rated tea
Day 21 1tsp GB and then 1/4 of TB (bringing in the TB)
Day 28 1/2 TB + 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Day 35 1.5 tsp TB to a gal
Day 41 2tsp of TB and 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Then Flush till finish unless it needs something at the end.

I think that this is everything that i do like i said i am not sure as this is all in my head. If the plants demand more that i give more this is just something to go by. I usually do not swap in clean water feedings at all over the fert program. I just use the jug then its gone. Now if i start to see over feeding or lockouts ill flush.
But if i keep my water on point i never usually see a lock out or toxicity.

Hope this helps

i noticed you use rockwool cubes ,by any chance did you forget to PH the cubes.?? . and i noticed on my last hydro grow that ph'd water alone till the fourth or fifth node work'd best for me ,even at 1/4 strength it gets hot for them when there young.

Hi

I have a Hailea pump giving 3600 lt/hr. Plenty of bubbles!

The roots came through in to the res but because of the stunted growth they never really took off.

Hi

The grow room is only 6 months old and is secret jardin so should be fine. But funny you say about off gassing as where I'm growing is a partitioned cupboard in my basement which doesn't get a lot of fresh air so I've just been out to get some ducting which I can run in to the main room where there is a window. Maybe this is the cause?

Hi Mate

No added cal/mag in this plant. This is from my last grow. I've only started adding cal/mag on my current grow but they've already started to go like this one.
