Quick question. A friend of mine purchased soil that didn't require additional nutrients. All he needed to do was to add water and he was good to go.

He wants to know how he would be able mix soil himself to get the same results (no additional nutrients just water)

There is a hard ware store that sells worm-castings(not sure about guano)
Can any of you recommend a simple mix to be made and items that can be purchased from Canadian (Toronto) stores

Thanks!

The ratios will depend on what he is growing. Plants like OG will need more oyster shells for the Cal. Go to Bustan they are in toronto, they have everything you need to amend your soil. Look for the welcome harvest farms products. It's what I use for my organics and I only add compost teas to them. Never any nutes in the water, if I get the mix right.

You can get enough stuff to cover the full spectrum of the plants needs from welcome harvest farms. Though I do hit up the pet shop for ground oyster shells. For calcium, it's in the bird section. Langbenite from welcome harvest will do the same, I just prefer the shells.

If you post back here with what he got, and what he is going to grow, i'll help with ratios.

If I had to pick 3, I would get.

Fish & Crab Meal (8-5-1) 1.5kg
An excellent source of nitrogen for your leafy vegetables, such as spinach and lettuce as well as being a great food for the garlic and onion family.
Blended from natural marine products.

NPK: 8-5-1

Fish Bone Meal (5-22-1) + Calcium 2.2kg

Sea-water is the ultimate depository of all water-soluble nutrients and elements that were once in the soil. Fish and plants living in the sea enjoy complete and balanced nutrition. The end product, fishb one meal, is a high phosphorous fertilizer.
Use on your annual and perennial flowering beds to take advantage of the ultra high phosphorous levels.

Use with or as a substitute for other bone meal products.

NPK: 5-22-1 + 18% Calcium

Greensand (0-1-8) 2.2kg

Greensand (glaucomite) is an iron potassium silicate that gives the minerals, in which it occurs, a green tint. It is mined from ancient seabed deposits of shells and organic material rich in iron, phosphorus, potash, and numerous micronutrients.
Greensand contains 22 trace minerals and has unique tilth enhancing properties, performing like humus in the soil. It helps to break up dense soil and helps combine open, loose soils.

Long lasting and usable for nutrient tea solutions, but yet slow acting for indoor gardens -- will only be available within 4 years.

Non-Animal Product!

NPK: 0-1-8

First of all, what was the name of the soil? Many soil companys like miricul grow and shultz add slow release nutes to ther product. These are in such small amounts that they are not very usefull for anything. You have to add nutes throughout the growth of marijuana plants if you expect a superior harvest.Surely he can make his own mix and add some organic additives but why go through all the trouble.Promix is located in Canada and there must be some retail stores that carry it.This with a added nute program would be a lot easier to do in my opinion. But to each his own.

Has he been successful using the prenuted soil?
He has't used it yet, but the person he purchased it from (Cannabis Expo) stated that's all he needed (it had worm castings and some other stuff I believe)
