As the title suggests this is going to be a thread depicting my experience with soil aeration and pot size. I decided that since I know exactly what I would receive from an auto if it's medium is properly aerated and it is grown in a decent sized pot, I should also know exactly what would happen with an auto if my soil isn't properly aerated and it isn't grown in an acceptable sized pot. I decided a seed sacrifice would be worth the information I'd gain.
I used a homemade soil with little to large sized lava rock for aeration in a larger 3 gallon pot for a cherry bomb auto, used ffof in a small 1 gallon plastic pot for an auto OG kush and a small 1 gallon smart pot for an auto Biodiesel mass. I also have a sweet tooth auto in a larger 3 gallon pot in used ffof that was started at the same time for comparison and actual bud in case my results came out as they have. All of these plants are the same age showing sex and all but the auto Biodiesel mass have shown zero nutrient deficiencies.
My cherry bomb auto has been fed organic teas, while everything else is fed with salts. Everything is under a single free hanging 400 watt mh at present.
First pic is a cherry bomb auto. Second pic is an auto OG Kush. Third pic is an auto Biodiesel mass. Fourth pic is a sweet tooth auto.
I post this in hopes that it might intrigue others to peer review as well. While this experience has taught me that pretty much every thing I have read about properly aerated soil and pot size importance is true, I still wonder what might be misleading.
