Wasn't sure where to put this thread but since it involves seeds I planted it here lol

Hey guys been a while I know. JUST chopped the last of my TDs today and finished my grow. It was successful even tho mother nature can be cruel. So anyways I chopped TD2 (my name for it...not a strain lol) today and while enjoying it in all its mottled yellow/purple/green glory I was looking at the top and thought I seen a seed. Then another. Then I knew I seen a green seed. So in one side/patch of the top is some seeding.

I was standing there just stumped.

I never seen any hermie action the whole way thru... but I guess it happened? maybe? I know there's no other pot growing in the area...or I'd have found it lol. So anyways heres some pics.

So I assume they are hermie seeds. So I guess myquestion is....What do I even do with them. Would they even sprout and if they could, would they even be worth growing? I mean how hermie would these offspring be? Like all out hermie or just hit and miss lol. Cause they might be goin outside if its just hit and miss as I don't care bout seeds that much in outdoor and the strain is pretty damn good sooo...yea...what do I do with these?TD2 seed.jpg

It can't hurt to grow them out...The only thing is the plants might retain the hermie gene and you'll end up with seeds in your weeds

Does the plant have visible male flowers on it? You never know who is growing within the very long distance its possible(although not common) for pollen to travel. You could have a killer cross. Like diablow said "it can't hurt to grow them out".

I just am totally clueless all the way around. I looked and looked and haven't found any male flowers (will know more after I break her down in a few days or so). First time growing auto for one. The plant went 103 days. Like I 'could' have picked it back at like day 80+ as while it wasn't 'done' in the sense. But the resin to fiber ratio was good. Trichs looked like they would have def got you rocked off ur ass lol. But I was like "nah man I'm gonna push her till she gets all wound up and hard and yellow"....(even tho im growin in unlined holes so Its not like it will yellow like a plant in a pot will). And theres actually quite a bit of seedage in the top and on the top calyxes of the bud below the top...if that makes sense. But I only found seeds in like the outermost two or three calyxes on the bud, didn't find any down past that...like further 'inside' the bud. If that makes sense. So basically nothing was pollinated until almost the last lil fiber/resin cycle it went through. I was like how does a super long auto not hermie and pollinate anything until like a couple weeks before its done. If it was hermie wouldn't there be seeds all over the place? Inner bud, outer bud, in the middle? Wouldn't it have shown signs of hermie and done earlier than later? Im scratching my head.

And to top it off I thought all autos were 'hermie' from the ruderalis genes...which ruderalis is a super fast plant. So if it was presenting with ruderalis traits wouldn't it have hermied pretty fast not at prolly like day 80 when it must have been pollinated?
And then there's the suggestion that "maybe, just maybe" somebody elses male pollinated my shit. Well yea there is that possibility I guess especially as its 'about that time' for reg outdoor to start flowering. So yea maybe. But then why did I not find even one seed in the plant I chopped down bout 8-9 days ago that was growin bout 8 ft away from the seedy one?

I stumped

ya got me stumped...If you grow them and they auto its probably a herm if they are photo its from cross pollination. That's the only way you're gonna know for sure.

yea ur right evol. I will have to run a couple under cfl during the winter and see if they ever sprout hairs and when lol. I should know more after I trim it up after it dries as far as if there's any male flowers to be found.

I'm not really sold on the "pollinated by someone's male theory" as I didn't find any in the last plant I chopped down. And as to how it looks like its jet blasted with seeds on the outer layer of the top. That would have had to have been an awfully lot of luck for all those lil pollen bits to make it to my girl and pollenate perfectly around the outer edge. If it was a few seeds or a seed here and a seed there than I would suspect wind pollination. But this is like every little bract of a bud if u look at the out most calyx or two: seed. I dunno. Will know more in a few days and will report back my findings lol

Don't forget about bees and other insects that could have flown onto a male plant and then found your female and decided to take a rest on that bud. It's unlikely but mother nature has her ways.
