Like most stoners I have found myself stranded with herb and no piece many a times. So I thought it would be fun to see the different ways people have come up with to smoke herb using everyday items or "macgyvered" if u will.
Ill start us off.

THE CIGARETTE J

here's what you'll need:
1. A cigarette
2. Steady hand
3. Scizzors or key (optional)

How its done:
Take the cigarette and spin it so that the tobaco falls out. Then take the filter off and carefully cut the paper as straight as you can. Scizzors are great, a key or stick will help in a pinch. Then put your shredded herb on the paper and roll like a j. Don't be afraid to lick the hell out of the end because it wont be gummed. Let dry and smoke your mini j skipping anyone in the circle who was talking shit on the first go around.

toilet paper tube, with an aluminum foil bowl over one end, poke holes, load bowl, toke it up ghetto style.

Take an orange.
Poke two hole into it so they form a "V"
Load one hole, light it up, inhale from other hole while squeezing ever so slightly to release some juice.
Instant bong hit.

Hmmm.... never tried that technique with an orange. I'll have to give it a go. I have done the same with an apple, and even a cucumber with good results though.

Another MG pipe can be made by taking an empty aluminum can (i.e. beer can), making an indentation along the lengthwise surface. Poke a few holes in the indentation. Herb goes in the indentation, the original mouthpiece is still the MG'd mouthpiece.

Variations: (1) Add a carb by poking a large hole elsewhere on the can that can comfortably covered by your finger during use. (2) Cut out the bottom of the can and make it a steam roller, although this may take a bit of effort (3) I know people that have used a water bottle, but I wouldn't recommend that though

TOOTER(tweaker vape)

1.Piece of foil
2.straw or hollow pen or redvine.

Place the herb on the foil. Run flame against the bottom of foil where herb is. Inhale smoke that comes off herb with strawlike item. Do not keep the flame right under the herb. The foil will melt causing herb to fall through and possibility of fumes from alluminum.

Yeah tokemon the good old fashion can technique. To add to what you were saying, the metal figure 8 on top of the can that is pulled up to open it, can be used to poke the holes in the can. Just take it off and snap it in half.

After breaking my 2nd and last bong last night, 2 shattered with in a month! Luckly the stems and bowls didn't, so I'm back to my hillbilly bong. It's not as smooth as my black leaf bong was, it gets the job done for now. Any good sites for bong shopping guys? I bought my last 2 from Grasscity. I would like to order from the US this time.

Jackal, nice makeshift bong. Seeing the bottle reminded me to post the gravity bong.

1. Cut off the bottom of a soda/pop/coke bottle (depending on your regional dialect, lol). 20 oz will do, but 3 Liter is sooo much better.
2.Place the altered bottle, cap off, in a bucket filled with water. Water should ideally be a couple inches under the bottle neck opening.
3. Use aluminum foil to form a bowl, which fits in the bottle neck opening. The bowl should not touch water.
4. Poke small holes in the bowl; place herb in bowl
5. Light herb and slowly begin to pull the bottle in an upward motion, stopping just shy of pulling the bottle completely out of the water.
6. The bottle is now filled with smoke. Remove the bowl & herb. Place mouth over bottle neck opening and push the bottle down.
7. Cough up a lung, hahaha

Also Jackal, I've also had the unfortunate experience of bongs breaking. I'm not sure of a good glass bong supplier in the US; but recently, I've been looking into the 'BooTube' by themauiwowie.com . It's a bamboo bong and supposedly nearly unbreakable. Here's a youtube review if you, or anyone else is interested as well: Linda Reviews BooTube. Also, it's handcrafted in Hawaii. So it's US made.

That's not recommended though, you smoke all the chemicals used to print the labels on the can, and it's very bad for your health
