I have used roots pots before. Basically smart pots. I was growing organic using liquid nutrients from humboldt nutrients. I had beneficial fungus growing through the pot. I really don't know if this is a good thing or not. Possibly over powering ratio of beneficial bacteria. I am very interested in using those airpots. I think that they would actually do a better job pruning the roots and creating better root growth then cloth pots. The question I have is, can you start in smaller airpots with soil and just put them in a bigger pots and have the roots just grow through like hydroponic growers do? I think that this could be more efficient then starting in final pots to avoid transplant shock and save space. Has anyone done this or does anybody have any thoughts.

I'm a user of both and greatly prefer airpots. The smart pots dont have space below them so they have to be put on caddy, grill or something to allow airflow to dry it or youll have a soggy mess. Airpots cost more but they last forever where as my smart pots are a pain in the ass to clean after harvest and the fabric will eventually give out...have not had any do that yet though.

In terms of growth both are equal in my opinion. Some will say the smart pots are not rigid and you can pack more in but if you have it on a caddy like I do you really cant pack more in.

As for that question above on transplanting. I always germinate and straight to final resting spot..never fails.

thanks for the replies guys or girls.... i appriciate them thus far and rapsody uve grown both and recomend airpots due to clening correct? airpots are simple and reusable as i understand and they produce monstrus plants but you say neither has an advantage when it comes to yeild and growth? so for what its worth airpots are the beezz nees

Airports are a breeze to clean. I just take a hose to it let it sit in bleach water to sterilize it and done. Smart pots on the other hand I've either thrown out or its been a pain in the ass to clean. The roots actually grow through the bag sometimes before there "air pruned" well have to pluck them out sometimes to get them out when I am cleaning.

No different in yield or growth. If your growing with regularly pots you will see a big difference. Check my grow out my 1 gallon airpots grew 2 autos that were like 24-27 inches tall, about 24 inches wide. Was a ginormus plant for a 1 gallon airpot. I use 1 gallon and 3 gallon ones.

Another advantage with airpots or smart pots I do not think its possible to over water either unless you submerge it.

Picture worth a 1000 words... 3 liters airpots

i've only grown in smart pots so far but i'm ordering air-pots for my next auto grow, smaller area taken up with better results from what i've seen on forum not hard math for me to do :)

That was a couple Mi5 from previous grow.
