I've recently been told by a breeder that instead of the hassle of making STS, they simply mix silver nitrate into CS. Essentially all you are doing is getting silver into the plant to inhibit ethylene production, so it doesn't matter how you get it in there. The CS just acts as the "transport" to get the extra silver in provided by the SN. It is meant to be as effective as STS but less harsh on burning the plant.

The mix I was advised is 20mg of SN in 30ml of 50ppm CS. Spray once per day, 3 days in a row at the start of week 3.

I use a 5v wall wart, 2 alligator clips and a silver dollar to make CS. Won't ever run out, always fresh, and it works.
Lots of vids and instructions on making a colloidal silver generator.

Don't see the necessity to add more silver.

@Arthur ,
I like the idea of the silver dollar.
US, Canadian...what year coin?
Different years had different levels of silver.

US pre 1964 will be 90%. Good enough for spraying plants. I don't think I'd want to ingest any.

I use 2 64 Kennedy halves. 16169915402862832966905911398998.jpg Pretty scarce currently unless your willing to pay quite a premium.

Great picture.
Thanks for sharing.
Keep safe grobro.
