whatever I can get
I started my second grow about 2 weeks ago, and after my experience with my first grow, you'd have thought I'd planned this out a little better.
I'm growing in Happy Frog, in the first grow I'd added some cheaper compost and perlite.
I started having problems with some leaves yellowing , and following some suggestion, I used some calmag, but then it turned out I may overfed
or all of the above lol.
so, here I am, second grow, 3 parts HF, 1 part perlite, no compost, 2 AK48's and 1 Northern Lights
my soil ph is over 7, my water ph has been 6.8ish
as for now, the girls are looking great, but what about the ph ?? and if it's high, how do I go about getting it down a bit ?
thanks !

thanks, I didn't think I was all that far off, and I know getting soil ph is much easier BEFORE you get your seeds going, I was just wanting to get round two going
so badly, and I already had these three seeds, soooooo in the soil they went !
and speaking of keeping it lit, I'll get er lit !
cheers :pass:

Fox Farms soils are usually 7.0. That's pretty standard for soil in general. Its not out of range at all.. And just to give you something to think about.. That 7.0 reading is the reading of bare soil. Once the plant establishes its root zone, the ph will probably fluctuate between 6.5-7.0. The ph of the soil at the root zone is what you want to be concerned with. Roots are incredibly smart.. They take up NH4+ from the soil and then release H+ which lowers the ph. Basically, roots have their own way of keeping the ph in range. It's usually human hands that mess it up. That's why most soils have a ph of 7. Because they understand that number will drop once roots are established.

Now that you mention it, when I checked the ph of soil at the end of the first grow was under 7
