The one plant I have going was started under my old blackstar burple light and it stretched and is tall for my grow area anyway. I was noticing some deficiencies and she drank water like a beast from the smaller air pot I had her in. I made the decision to move her in to a much bigger air pot hoping that this helps and does not stunt her too badly.
When I transplanted her, I noticed her root system had bottomed out in the smaller air pot. I hope she takes to the new pot. I know many say you shouldn't replant an auto, but I felt I need to try something with her.
Wish us luck!
You should enjoy your new lights.
I've got two of them and really like the results.
What you need to know about these lights is that they're stronger than you may expect.
What I mean to say is, keep the lights at 30 inches above the seedlings to avoid problems.
The plants probably won't burn, but may develop a P def'c because of the over abundance of light.
I've tested them with a PAR meter, and they put out about 550PAR at 1 foot.
Also, they tend to generate quite a bit of heat. So if they start getting hot in the tent. Remove the driver and keep it outside of your tent.
You could also get a WATT meter on Amazon for about $10, and lower their output if space in the tent is at a premium.
This kinna defeats the purpose of these lights, but can be done with a little simple science.
If you choose to do this, use the meter. The lights are set at 150W new from the factory.
Figure that at 100W, the lights are putting out about 1/2 of their full capacity.
