Ok guys, i lifted up the soil in the 5 gallon pots and i couldn't even find the auto mazar seeds after 9 days, what do you guys think happen ? i really messed this time up. I have 5 inch square pots. And I'm about to try all over again, i have three seeds: mazar/white shark and some bag seeds. Before i start this id like to ask you guys how i should start. I plan on put the seeds in a cup of water for germination, but how long do you guys think i should keep the seeds in the water, til they crack slightly? or even longer than that till the taproot come out . Then i plan on planting them in the 5 inch pots, with root organic, and i have some light warrior soil. I plan on re using the soil, i have some extra soil, but not that much. I don't have a heating mat, I'm kind of on a budget but I'm probably going to have one for my next grow. So, once i have the seeds in the 5 inch pots about 1/4 inch deep, where should i put it? In my tent, or are there any betters spots, like by the window. Some tips and step by step info would be really great, so i can try my best to get the seeds going. Thanks for any info, ill be checking for responses and if i feel I'm ready to go I'm probably going to start germination today.

hey gregmagnu! welcome to afn

i highly recommend you to get your hands on a book like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARIJUANA-I...490?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4abc970be2
get urself some basic information! u can find it here also, but i'd read this stuff to bro, really u going to know the basic stuff!

well, i'm a beginner too=)
used the paper towel method with my first 5 seeds.... only one survived! i guess i was touching the taproot or something when i transplanted them and shit...
if you throw em in water i read that 24hours is maximum , they usually should sink down to the bottom when you slightly tap em. if not, they are probably not good....

but fuck this method man, im'a tell u one thing
my second try, i put them 5 beans directly into the soil (plagron grow mix) , kept em nice warm and wet and--> tataa 5 days later all five of them were up!

k.i.s.s.
keep it simple stupid!

peeze out bro and good luck

Thanks for the info this is my plan: plant the seed 1/4 inch deep and put the 3 pots under my t5 setup like 4-6 inches away, with no oscillating fan until the seeds sprout. Im not going to water the seeds until they sprout because i already put water to give the pot moisture. If i do this do you think ill be fine? And the pots seem to be pretty wet right now, is that bad? I don't plan on watering for a while. And i think the t5 would be good for them so they can be warmer, am i right about that? So what do you think? will i be fine

This method has always worked for me, I normally germ in a cup of water first for 24 hours then I wet a paper towl, hold it under the sink for a second, drain excess water and place inside an air tight container, place the seeds between a layer of paper and close lid, I normaly also place a plastic bag over the top as I seal the container as we want high humdity at this point. Keep in a dark and warm place for a further 24 hours. By this time your roots should show by a few mm's.

I then carfeully take my seeds and and place them 2cm into the soil (knot side up), cover top gently, don't pack it out. And then they are placed in my growing area. Within the first 24-48 hours you will start to see them break through the soil and begin the next stage of there life. AVOID nutes at this stage only water. Make sure your soil is damp and not soaking wet. I already showed you a picture of mine 4 days into germinatio and hopefully yours will look the same.

That's all I can think of at the moment, I can probably help better once the affects of my smoke wear off. :wiz:
