Seedling seems a little dwarfed

Hi Guys,

This just happened to be my first post as well, although I have been browsing the forum for ages looking for all and any advice for my grow

I recently acquired a Grass-o-matic Maxi gOm and the plant seems a bit drawfed, she sprouted 8 days ago, and up an until now, very little growth has taken place:

This is her, with the back end of a standard lighter in the pic.

She's in organic nutrient free potting soil, getting only water. Currently in a 10L pot, I was wondering it this isn't perhaps the problem, with all the space available she's possibly pushing all energy into establishing roots first?

I don't see any perlite in your soil. Is it compacted? If so, it's possible that not enough oxygen is reaching the roots to promote good root growth. Also, how much water have you given it and how often?

Thanks for the replies guys, I just checked the bag, it's plain organic potting soil, no perlite unfortunately, it's not easily available where I'm from.

I've been giving the plant about 100ml - 150ml once per day. It's the middle of summer here, so it does get quite hot, so soil dries up very easily.

If you can't get perlite you can also use vermiculite, sand or even broken up styrofoam. Watering every day could also be a problem. The pots should dry out between waterings. Learn to judge the weight of your pots when they are dry and only water when they feel light.

I'd cut back on the water a little and give her a few days and see if she responds.

I'm not crazy about the look of your soil. Looks like it has a lot of bark, something I'm not fond of in a MJ soil mix. Do you have any other options available to you for quality soil?

Hey Guys,

It's now a few months later, and my dwarfed auto has grown up a little bit, although, really not much at all. Unfortunately she's been an extremely low yielder, probably because she started off badly. The harvest will hopefully give me a smoke or two :$

Can you guys give me some idea how long I should wait till harvest?
