New Grower seed germination and seedling

i want to plant 5 lr#2s in 1 gallon pots.i read how to grow but it says it said after soaking sow directly to soil ---soak how long---before planting says go directly to large container.is the mg seedling mix ok to use?

when the seed cracks and you can just see the tap root 24-48 hours
1g of seedling mix is to much you want a small hole filled with seedling mix in a decent potting soil so as the plant gets bigger it can access the nutrient

ok your saying seed starter is not a good growing medium?i have some small2x2 inch pots ,plastic.will that work to start--with mg seed starter---,should i put pots directly outside. as plant grows i can cut out bottom of cup to sit in larger pot

I would fill the main pot with the full strength compost and sit the 2x2 with the seedling compost in the final pot straight away (with no bottom on it)if using fems

you only need the seedling compost for the first 7-10 days of life
