Runt Auto Assassin with grow chart

Started 2 AA seeds. Seed orientation was correct but both seedlings had trouble straightening. This little girl is only 3.75 inches tall at day 42. Her sister never fully uncurled and died on day 8. Growth is shown charted alongside a Northern Lights AF and a Fast Bud AF. They all used the same medium, light, pH, etc. The NL and FB were harvested on days 77 and 61, respectively, with 10-20% amber and average yield. The AA looks healthy but it just isn't growing. Attached photos and grow chart. Couple of bad seeds? Any other ideas? Grow.JPGAA-1.JPGAA-2.JPG

She does seem healthy. The petioles must be on top of each other!

Hey Chloe. Welcome to AFN! Nice chart. Since everything is the same as before, it's a bit confusing. My guess would be, not enough light, and that too little light positioned too close. Just a guess. Is your soil re-used or fresh?

Chloe, i had a blue himalaya that was similar; ended up being about 5' tall but it turned into one baseball sized bud - looked like a giant tootsie-pop. i had thought that maybe i overwatered & added too many nutrients when it was still a seedling and the roots never developed properly. i started two more blue himalayas about three weeks after that, used the same lights & schedule but modified my watering and didn't add nutes until after the first three weeks and they turned out great - nice big buds. i'm not sure if that is the same in your case

U can prolly ask Stitch, the breeder of AutoAssasin. He might have some insight for you. He has a forum on on here...on the forum homepage look for "Flash Seeds" in AutomaticSeed.Com Vendor Forums

crush as just reminded us of something very important. The growth of the roots is similar to the growth of the plant. So... have you tried to give her some root stimulator?

hey Hugo - haven't tried a root stimulator yet, but i was going to germ a couple more durrtydragons this evening - i'll give it try when they hit the dirt

Root boosters are soooo important with autos. Use it through the entire grow and you won't regret it.

You may be right--there may not be enough light for this particular strain although the others have done well under the same T-5's. The soil was fresh and the same peat-perlite-potting soil mix as usual. I'll check with Stitch. I haven't used a root stimulant--that may be the way to go, although it may be too late for this one.

Probably, but what's important is to have a good time. And despite anything else, that girl is healthy looking!

I like to learn as much as I can so that way I'll know better in future grows.

I could just be a runt. Autos are still relatively new and not fully stabilized yet, so runts are common. I agree, judging from the node spacing, that the light was probably a little too low. Also, when you started feeding and when you switch to bloom nutrients can play a big role in how big the final plant gets. Autos put on most of their vertical growth between weeks 3 and 6. A lot of people make the mistake of switching to bloom nutes as soon as they sex. They end up missing out on that explosive vertical growth and their plants end up stunted.
