I have a 16 day old that is thriving.
I also have a 1 week old with a very red twisted stem. I thought it would be dead by now but it not and the leaves look healthy.
I also have a 3 day old that appears to have the same condition. Any idea what is going on? All were started in rapid rooters.
Temps are low to mid 80s. I had them in a Tupperware container for their first few days of life. Too much humidity? Bad seeds? Bad grower (me)?
Pictures are in order as described.

Let her grow. Support her when needed. I use twist ties found on various cables etc that I place in the dirt and wrap around the plant if she is falling over. Also you can pile some dirt on her.

i would give them some support i see you have a toothpick . and get them a little closer to the light that's why they're so leggy

Thanks for the feedback. The littlest one died yesterday. I’m thinking I let it get too warm in the Tupperware and dampened off by the research I’ve done.

was this in reply to comment of yesterday, (sorry i deleted it, thinking this was an older thread) the tap root will push the seedling upward if it cannot go down or if there is no pressure on the seed to stop it rising before the root has burrowed down, that results in the whitish lower stem, which is actually the top of the root, which doesnt work well with light, this is why we plant the seeds about 1cm into the starter/soil/jiffy etc and compress slightly, the pressure on the seed forces the tap root to burrow down rather than taking the easy way of pushing up. if you get what I mean.

the only way I found to get around these accidents is to add soil upto the starter leafs and compress around the showing root

I'm no pro but as St. Tom mentioned, you may need to lower your light or raise them closer. They look kind of leggy which possible could contribute to the twisting stem.

Kind of looks like a light distance problem. I assume there are holes in the Tupperware for drainage?
