Hey all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a reverse osmosis system? I think I need to get one.

Thanks!

Check out the Hydro Logic Small Boy, that's the one I want.

Or call your local water softener place and you can rent one for bout $20 a month...those only give between 6 to 7 gals a day tho.

It's for hydro, and yea I've got a few large barrels that I can fill and have at the ready. I actually thought a R/O system would be what I needed, but I'd been reading that it won't deionize the water, which is really what I'm after. My water is super clean but it's coming out of a water softener and loaded with sodium ions. I could get the potassium pellets for the system, but those are 26 bucks a bag instead of the 6 for the sodium, and I need a bag every 2 weeks. So the cost of those would add up real fast compared to the up front cost of even just a deionization filter that puts out .5gpm. Those would last for 2500 gallons or so and cost like 20 bucks. Hmmm... choices.

the r/o should get rid of all the junk thats in the water from a softner. wow i cant beleive you are running softer water in hydro wow. or you can look into a water distiller they make them for for countertops but i dont think they will be big enough for hydro maybe coco but not a ebb and flow or anything like that. you might want to run another water line off your main line and get it away from the water softner. or you can get a hard water filter and run it b4 your r/o system. wow goodluck still cant get over the fact that you are using water softner water in hydro when i wont even use my tap water cause the lime content is too high lol good luck:bong:

Still growin' some great plants, though. But, they could be much better, I think, without the sodium locking out all that potassium. Live & learn.

wow water softner and organic, if you grow good stuff now just think how good things will grow when you get your water thing worked out. you will be growing some real good tasting stuff. keep growing! :bong:

So I'm gonna opt for the potassium pellets instead of the salt ones. Should make life easier. They're SUPER expensive... 26 bucks for a bag instead of 6 for the salt ones... but that'll be the easiest route to go.
