I'm well into flowering and so far so good. Using 0 TDS water to top off except when PH is low then I will use 185ppm tap. Running recirculating with no air pumps. All seems to be going swimmingly, and the whole microbe stuff seems a little snake oil like... What am I missing and what don't I know? This is my first hydro grow and so far balancing this is remarkably easy after what I'm used to compared to farming Acropora corals for decades...

Basically, what are the dangers of running this like a closed system with only basic fertilizer inputs? Also, I want to transition to blending my own fertilizer ("nutrients") soon, any suggested resources?

Many thanks in advance!

A more concise way of asking what I'm wondering... Are there people that consistently grow spectacular plants in hydro that don't change water and just use the needed nutrients. No microbes, no crazy bottles of overpriced water?

Cheers :pass:
