So this is the first REAL scary issue I've encountered yet with my gal. After feeding her some banana tea the other day, I noticed her buds getting bigger & fuller but her leaves also started getting more & more yellow & crispy starting at the bottom. It looks like a typical nitrogen deficiency. With her so late in the life cycle, I don't think it'd be smart to supplement any nitrogen now...would it? I'm starting to see my first amber/brown pistils as of today. Just a few but they're there.

What happens if all the leaves fall off & I'm only left with buds on the plant? Will they eventually die & fall off too? Would I need to harvest super early to avoid something like that? I don't have any chemical/bottled nutes on hand & have only used household items to feed her with so far. She's in an 18-oz Solo cup & will be remaining there until the end due to several reasons (space, etc).

I will be entering Week 8 this Wednesday & the breeder suggests going until Week 11 with this strain. Getting kinda scared today after seeing all the yellowing leaves. I know SOME yellowing is normal in late flower but as a new grower I don't know what the rate is supposed to look like. I attached some pics below so you can see what I'm working with. I just watered her from the top w/ plain water & a bunch of yellow came out, so maybe that will help get the remaining banana tea solution out and slow the yellowing down.

(I asked about this on G r o w D i a r i e s & got a rude remark about "of course she's showing massive deficiencies when you're not feeding her, maan." lol. And then something about a worm bin. Not very helpful for THIS grow. I just need solutions I can use in this instance that are practical. I know growing in a Solo cup without bottled nutes is not ideal but it's what I've done & just need to know where to go from here in a worst case scenario).

Thanks in advance!

Basic grow info:

Soil: Black Gold Organic
Lights: 84 Watt CFL; 20 Watt LED. 18/6 cycle.
Strain: Sour Diesel Auto, Week 7.
Nutes: Homemade fertilizers (grass clipping tea, diluted urine, banana tea, fish meal flakes).
Other: Mild defoliation as needed. Fan on to circulate air during lights on.

I think you need to pee on it more [emoji16] looks like it's starving, possibly from lock out. What's water pH with nutes and urine? Wrong kind of Pee for npk

I think pee has a lot of salt in it too. Look on line and you will find your water company's water pH. Then you can work from there if no pH meter.

LOL. The pee happened way back in Week 3 & she seemed to love it. I diluted it 12:1 but don't know about pH as I don't have any testing supplies for that. I use bottled spring water for all my waterings/feedings. The banana tea last week is where things took a decided turn for the worse.

See if you can find the pH of the bottled water, but I would grab some nutes. If you are low on cash get a tomatoes nute and an aquarium pH test kit. Do 1/2 strength every other feed until run off. You need a balanced home made tea with npk in it not just potassium from banana.

Thanks, Rollin! My dad might have some pH stuff for his aquarium, actually. Will have to sneakily check next time he's out. I know nothing about using bottled nutes but guess I can learn if it means saving my plant!

I am growing with a cheap all round nutrient for vegetables, 1/2 strength of what it says on the bottle, mix with your water before you water the plant. Make sure you get some run off through the bottom. Check your pH should be around 6.5 after nutes added.

Sounds easy enough. Would something like "Nirvana Bloom Enhancer" work, or what active ingredients should I be looking for? Just basic N-P-K flowering formulations?

Either specialized canna bloom nutes or good tomatoes nutes work. Booster won't have much if any nitrogen so not so good. My general fruit and flower nutes are 4-5-10 , tomatoe nutes are 4-7-10.

Ones with kelp or seaweed in are good too, or added magnesium.
