This is refreshing to be on here again! I had to stop growing for over a year, but game on again. I only made it through 2 grows last time so I'm still in the learning stages. I want to use roots organic soil mixed with twenty percent perlite and my plan is to use advanced nutrients ph perfect nutes, I haven't decided which bundle pack I wanna do yet though. Now I know it automatically adjusts the pH of your water and makes it at 5.8 everytime, but if I use tap water will I still have to wait 24 hours for the chlorine to evaporate? And here's my other question, what if the pH in my soil is off, I'll have to adjust my ph accordingly right therefore I can't or may not always want it at 5.8? For those of you using ph perfect, are you still testing your runoff?

Still let the watery sit out to evaporate. This is my first run with AN and I haven't tested anything and my girls look great following tangs advanced feeding schedule. Slightly droopy in the pic because it was right before I fed.

I grow with AN exclusively... I run pretty much every product but started with the hobbiest level and it puts out some massive plants.

I'm not familiar with the roots soil I use promix bx or biobizz light or plain light.. but I NEVER check or adjust ANYTHING just mix and water.

I reccomend leaving the water your going to mix in our for 24hrs at least prior to watering... and I run an aquarium pump in it to aid evap and oxygenated water

I'd still check your ph after adding nutes. Its all about water source and what the starting ppm's are. Check it a couple times, especially with tap water. You dont state what light you will use, but if you are in LED, you may need cal/mag and that raises your water ph. Do yourself a favor and check your ph after the nutes have been added to be safe. It could save you problems down the road. I use/used AN and still have to ph my feeds after nutes are added to the water.

I totally agree with Briman. I use tap water and after nutes are added my ph is alway 6.4. Your water source is a big factor so always ph your feed solution.

I'm not diagrreing with anyone just giving my experience..... Go to any of my newer threads proof is in the pudding. At first I would ph down and get it "spot on" after mixing my nutes for soiless medium... after several convos with AN I finally tried one plant just mix and feed. I haven't checked a feed since. The only thing I do is bubble 24 hrs prior to mix/feed. This ensures the chlorine is evaporated out and your not killing your benificial root tribe in your medium with chloirine. I have noticed absolutely 0 difference in results... they are still happy healthy and vigorous. If your tap is anywhere under 8.5 and your using the p.h perfect line plus addatives developed with it your plants will be fine if your in a good nutral medium. Using AN that's where most folks have problems. They use pre ferted soil or cheap knock off stuff that's not stable. This will cause problem.

Advanced Nutrients are chelated and developed to be absorbed over a wider range of ph swings or balances therefore doesn't need to be "spot on" everytime. None the less I did start with balancing every feed like. Lock work so hey maybe do the test like I did run them side by side and check out the results.

Good point @A-Train. I have never had any change in my water/feed ph using AN. The only problem I have had is with my promix hd soil ph dropping of bad in the middle of a grow and causing a lock out issue. So I am extra cautious of soil ph now. But am about to do DWC so no more dirt, and I will continue to use AN ph perfect nutes in a bubbling bucket :cooldance:

I think I'll go ahead and ph the first few weeks just to see where everything stands. Not the first two weeks while I'm just using plain water though. My grows are gonna be under cfl's (for briman) I believe u asked earlier. Alright guys this is gonna be a bit all over the place but I'm on information overload right now and while this is all on the tip on my tongue I wanna get it out there. I've had two grows in a room I designed myself, everyone has said it's badass and I completely agree. The only problem we had before was the smell. I had ona gel inside and out, a rhino 6" carbon filter, and still I couldn't get it under control while only growing four plants. The room was roughly 5' x 3' x 7'. The cfm of my fan was well sufficient so it wasn't that. Anyways this time around I bought a grow tent to put in the actual room itself lol sounds stupid I know. The tent should be shipped this week and I wanna know what would be the best way to hookup the filter, fan, and lights, mind u they're cfl's so little to no heat. Should I also have a fan in there blowing on the plants or blowing fresh air in? Onto soil, roots organic is super expensive and my local farm store sells ff, so if I mix ocean forest and happy frog 50/50 would that be light enough? Now another subject, seeds are getting f#*&ING expensive and I think I've gained enough knowledge to diagnose problems and have a good understanding of growing, so who can help me with sexing my girls? Whether it be a YouTube video, a step by step tutorial, but I'd like for it to be broken down in stoner terms aka easy to follow lol. I thank anyone who reads this in advance because I know I was all over the place. And I'll get pics of everything I have as soon as it comes in, I'm sure that'd give u guys a better understanding
