This may seem like a silly question but if you are trying to breed purple into a new cross. When you get to the f2 generation how do you select males. Will they have purple flowers as well? I have not seen a purple male

From what I have read some breeders dry out the leaf of the male and smoke it, some chew on the leaves and stems and those are both really to get an idea of the smell and flavor if it's close to the purple seems to me that would be the male to chose. Also look at the plant structure if it grows like the plant you are after that's also a good indication of a winner.

A male will have purple pollen sacs if the purp gene is dom. I just recently had a purple black dragon male. The sac will turn purple you might see purple in the leaves or on stems but it might not be dom. if you have the time to look I'd say find the male with purple sacs
