Ok let me start this out with I'm new to creating my own seeds, now I do know that the object is to collect pollen and cross with a different plant, however I only have one seed for my auto ultimate left, it's being germed as I am writing this, I guess my major question is if I start the colloidal spray right away as soon as I see it start to flower, and I just let my plant pollinate itself early in flower will it have time to pollinate and produce viable seeds that are still 100% pure strain genetics or will it produce a ton of mutant plants or seeds that are not viable at all, would I be better off not taking a chance and just crossing it with my think different or auto Thailand Ryder seeds, I really like the auto ultimate as far as production goes and potency isn't bad at all, I'd like to produce some more seeds for it but ordering is a pain in the arse, and I cannot find any info online about whether or not it's ok to do it this way and just have the plant force pollinate itself so any and all comments welcomed on this, and thank you in advance for any helpful advice on the matter.

sooo no1? I've read alot of threads on here, some say it's fine some say don't, some say 75% female seeds with 25% hermie, some say all hermie, some say all female, if anyone can I'd like to know from people with personal experience on the issue... My seed should be popping through the soil anytime now

Well I haven't done it yet either but I have read a lot about it.
The general consensus is that selfing is difficult due to the time it takes to reverse and then produce pollen.
In this time your female flowers will be fairly well established before they are pollinated.
People still do it though.

I would try it but not bank on it working.

I'm interested in the same type situation. I have one gorilla glue fast bud and three mophisto auto blues if I turn one or just at least part of one male with CS ( I'm going to by off Amazon wet paper towel once a day wrap a branch) would there be enough time to get one to cross with the other? I did not think about the possibility of hermaphrodite but I guess the blue gorillas would be all female? I just don't want to have to order seeds as often.

Ok, since I'm doing this, I would Love opinions on which plant I should get to produce pollen, currently i have 3 strains going, all autos, I'm leaning at this time towards having my auto ultimate be the pollen producer and letting it pollinate both my think different and wild thailand Ryder, however, the more i read up on my strains, i seem to be finding that my wild thailand Ryder will be done long before my TD or auto ultimate... Which begs the question of whether or not i would even have enough time to get seeds from my thailand if i use pollen from my auto ultimate.... But my goal in this is trying to make a lot of seeds from my 3 favorite autos, i like TD and auto ultimate because of the production levels and neither are terrible smoke, but i love the thailands and I just can't seem to find a good productive plant .... They stay soooo short and most I've pulled from one was a ounce.... Well 26 grams but who's counting LOL... Does anyone know if breeding for size is as much of a crapshoot as everything else? I can't help but feel TD x AU would be a good productive plant, and probably decent smoke but i think if i choose that route then my afghan might just not have enough time to mature it's seeds.... So i guess long story short is if these were your plants, which would you choose for pollen production? The auto ultimate is a couple weeks older than the thailand and TD if that helps at all in what you guys would do
