So there is a lot of quacking in the garden, ducks that eat all my snail/slug pellets, dammit, and a duck that don't......a Frisian Duck god bless.

I ordered 3 Frisian Duck beans, arrived 2 days later, and.........what the heck.......the package had been run over by a steamroller or some such, 2 of 3 seeds were squashed, crushed and crumbled to little white blobs........hmmmmm, so dropped the 1 bean who looked like it had somehow survived in a glass of water, it duly sank and lo and behold, a little white thingie emerged 2 days later which necessitated a transfer from the depths to a coco cube stuck in soil where she is now presiding.

Presently 3 days old, thoroughly miffed and nagging away.......why she is all alone and are not allowed to play with the boys in kindergarten........first set of leaves just emerging, still too small to see the duckiness yet......!

Regarding the 2 crushed seeds, I contacted Tony, got an instant reply saying steamrollers were known to prowl DP's premises occasionally......ok, I made that up.........what Tony really said was sorry, 3 new Ducks would fly out, and to make up for lost time, 3 auto Frisian Dew would be piggybacking the Ducks.

6 seeds arrived yesterday in prefect condition having evaded all heavy construction machineries successfully, went snorkeling immediately, but has still to make the plunge at the time of writing. More to follow.........

Thanks to Tony and DP for sorting this out so quickly, excellent customers service......Kudos to DP

Tony and Dutch Passion have always been a fantastic group in my experience, I can honestly say that they have given me the best customer service I've received anywhere.

+1 to the post, as always a big thanks to DP for showing us what a company should be run like :)

>If it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck.......it ain't necessarily a duck<

Here's a few pics of them there ducks.......92 days old, planted in ordinary 10 L pots with normal garden center potting soil and a handful of slow release nutricote. No particular attention or care given, the occasional watering sometimes forgotten, slugs and snails has been sniffing.......and yet

That looks great, really hard to spot, definitely looks like the way to go for a stealth grow. Can't wait to see it in full flower, subbed.

They are not without a certain aroma though.

They started flowering about 10 days ago, and if the aromatics don't scare me too much, there should be another 6-7 weeks to go.

It they had been tended to like the indoor plants and had a bigger pot, they would probably be a wee bit more presentable, but I wanted to see how they coped with....... Wait for it......... That pesky.................. Nature!!!

Here's a little state of affairs with the 3 Ducks

And as you can see, some supercropping shyster has been at it.......

Looks like mid-October before they are ready, at least. The smell is not too bad, you have to be close to notice, however the leaves are starting to have a less than ducky appearance.
They are still just being watered(when I don't forget!) and are living off the nutes they were given from the potting some 3 1/2 months ago, and the most sangfroid still stand almost 1.8 m tall........what's that all about

What a cool plant the Frisian duck is, and what a beautiful garden she resides in!
Thanks mate, yes, they are beautiful, very little smell and they seem to keep their ducky appearance.

Here is some mood pics from today, still a long way to go and it's been real muggy, raining and overcast lately, so I'm on the

for mould, so far in vain............
