I grew some Purple Kush A few grows back and was totally dissapointed. I got very small yields and half way through the grow almost all the fan leaves turned yellow and fell off. I was doing some research to figure out what went wrong and i came accross someone that said that Kush plants are highly sensitive to Nitrogen and that when i start feeding I should forgo the veg nutes and go straight to flowering nutes. What do yall think? Is this statement accurate? What do ya think will happen if i try it? an info would be appreciated. i was using foxfarms nutes at 1/4 strength to begin with and eventually move up to 1/2 strength. Light were 1000 watt HPS and humity was between 40% and 50 %

I've got a couple cropking purple kush grows under my belt. You probably starved them. They have plenty of light but not enough nitrogen.

Try the Lucas formula using maxibloom if you are in hydro. Feed full 7-10 grams per gallon. It is naturally light in nitrogen.

They are picky feeders but keep the ph at 5.8 and a low nitrogen diet during flowering and they'll get happy for you.

I know of a few members, that feed with bloom nutes through the whole grow. Depeending on your nutrient numbers, the plant can actually get the same or more N during the whole grow. TaNg has an Advanced Nutrient feed schedule, where he uses only the bloom nutes from start to finish.

thanks for the info I will check out Lucaa formula and also tangs feeding schedule thanks again

Yep. Powdered GH Maxibloom is almost all I use start to finish.

I will give the girls a little calmag, micro, or Koolbloom at specific times because I have the stuff on hand but I probably won't buy more of it. Maxibloom seems to be sufficient for good growth and flowering.

cool you wouldnt happen to have a feeding schedule for the Maxibloom would ya. Should I start at 1/4 strength and move toward 1/2 strength as would with other nutes?

In hydroponics with reverse osmosis water, 1 teaspoon per gallon should sort you out during the flowering cycle. As a seedling, 1/4 tsp. Then start bumping up to normal nute strength gradually. By the time they have a few nodes and nice sized leaves they can handle 1 tsp per gallon.

This was in my setup,
Of course (aeroponic with 5w LED).

cool thanks for the info. it sounds pretty easy and I know a lot of people swear by it on the net. so thanks again
