This question is for all growers using Promix. What pH do you adjust your feeding/watering to? Since it's a soiless mix, I always thougth the hydro pH should be used 5.8. I bought a bottle of AN Iguana Juice bloom and I emailed AN asking does it need to be pH adjusted if so what pH do they recommend. I made clear that I was growing soiless with Promix HP. They wrote back and said pH adjust feedings/watering to 6.3. Being curious I wrote back and asked why 6.3 and not 5.8 since Promix is soiless.

"Promix HP, while a soilless semi hydro type medium, actually requires the pH of a soil watering.

You want to be adjusting feedings and watering to a pH of 6.3."

So it just puzzles me really, on how there's so much mixed up info about pH.

Thanks JM, so what are you pH'ing your water/feed to?

np... i use promix bx myself... i pg my water to 6.3- 6.5 unless i see soil ph is ouit.. then i adjust accordingly to bring it in my range

often ime i let my soil phswing as high as 6.8 with no obvious ill effects... but i try never to let go there too long

What is the sweet spot for Promix itself, 6.5 like soil?

Yeah your right Maul both is pretty much the same. I can't get Sunshine anywhere, if i could I would try the #4. They both are bufferd with lime.

I've been using Pro Mix BX since day one. In my first grow I was noticing some deficiencies and was advised to check soil ph via run-off method. Let me add that I was ph'ing my water to 5.8-6.0 thinking that was correct for soiless medium. My soil ph was very low (can't remember how low exactly) and was advised to start ph'ing my water to 6.4-6.6. I haven't had any problems since I started doing this. Soil run-off was 6.2-6.4 consistently after doing this.
