Hi experts!
I’m on day 53, Jack47 Auto from sweet Seeds. In Biobizz light mix soil.
Feeding:
2ml calmag p/l
2ml alga mic p/lm
1ml fish mix p/l
3ml topmax p/l
4ml biobloom p/l
Feeding every 36 hrs, 1.5L per plant.

3 plants, all a little high on N so I cut my fish mix down, 2 of them short and bushy seem to have no issues, 1 of them decided she wanted to be a bigger girl and stretch a whole lot more.
This ‘big’ girl seem to be getting what I think is a cal deficiency. Perhaps someone can take a second look for me and let me know what they think? @Waira @Mañ'O'Green @Proph @St. Tom @420Forever @hecno (sorry for all the tags, figured one of you guys will have something helpful to say).

If it is, I presume the best course of action is to just up the calmag in the feed?

Thanks in advance :smoking:

As long as the PH is in the proper range in the root zone then a little more Cal-mag should do the trick.

Thanks for that, I’ll up it and see how they go. I haven’t actually ph’d the soil, but they’ve always been watered/fed at a ph of 6.4 - 6.7 so I sort of assumed it should be fine. I’ll have a check in the morning.

Unless the issue is caused by a nutrient lock out.. Like excess mag locking out cal, and vise versa.. In that case, adding more cal mag will make the problem worse.

The question I would ask is, are you feeding nutrients every time you water? If so, Id be concerned about the ppm levels in the soil and of a possible lock out. I've rarely seen more calmag to be the solution when calmag is added every feeding. Not to mention algamic (seaweed extract) and the fish mix both have traces of calcium in them.

Yes I add nutes pretty much every time I water. Once a week I water with just ph’d water and calmag. I seem to have a calmag fixation
Well I’ll do the next couple of waterings with plain old ph’d water and see how they get on.

Who's calmag are you using?

I was looking at the MSDS on General Hydros calimagic this morning.
The official & legal answer, is 10-30 % calcium, 10 -30% magnesium.
And!, they have the balls to say it is a marketing secret and possible variance during mfg.

Honestly, if these guys were making insulin and you were a diabetic.
+- 20%....????
So using GH calimagic in some cases actually cause either cal or mag lockout.
Shit, I'm starting to sound like Proph.
 :pighug:

So I tested my soil (dug down around 4-5 inches and used soil from around the middle of the pot). Here are my readings, ppm is high but ph is acceptable.

Think maybe some plain waterings for the next few days will lower the ppm and if I ph the water to 7 it will bring the soil up a bit too. What do you think?
