New Grower Preflowers at 26 days

I do have a lot to learn about autos. This is only my third auto grow. The first was years ago with LR2 and that got to about 3.5-4 ft. More recently was a Candy Kush, I just looked back and she was showing preflowers at 26 days too - she was bigger. It takes some getting used to having them do their thing in such a short time. I guess the "vast" part in Fast and Vast had me hoping for more.

Today she's showing some signs of stretching after raising the light from 12" to about 20 so I'm hoping for a better yield than I thought at first. It's interesting that there seem to be so many phenos. It's good to hear another vote for the quality of the smoke!

I had myself convinced that the curl wasn't from too much nitrogen, the DynaGro being 7-9-5. The pH control isn't the best either, I just recently got a pH pen and she's running a bit high, around 6.8. Soon's I can afford it I'll get some pH up and down. I've been a lazy seat-of-the-pants grower for a long time and I gotta buckle down and get dialed in.

Anyhoo thanks all.

Growing without proper nutes/ph control is like an engine builder working without a torque wrench. Sure you can get the job done but in the end it's going to blow up in your face.

I have had purple kush pre flower at 4-6" tall and end up 18-24" tall. I have had a few strains pre flower later than I am use to in the 25-30 day range every time these plants have end up larger than normal though in the 2-3 foot tall range and producing around 2-3 ounces. Some times you just get a plant that wants to do its own thing.

Yup, they seem to do that. lol. First grow, but of the 3 that were dropped at the same time, the one has a crap ton of buds and getting sticky and hairs changing orange, second is budding but no orange or sticky and the third is just starting to grow hairs. Tallest one topped out at 44" before she started flowering. 2nd is only about 36" and the third took a growing break around 32" then the main cola shot up another 10" or so before it just started its budding.

She's starting to stretch nicely, and it looks like the main cola will be pretty good. Side branches are peeking out too. I've heard that things happen quicker in a hempy, looks like it might be true.

I've never had problems with the DynaGro nutes, they're excellent. The nitrogen toxicity surprised me. Switched over to DynaGro bloom and it's straightening out. I wonder if it's strain related, at some point in the future I'll see if I can get one dialed in better.

I think the ice is out today so if I feel ambitious I'll grab some lake water. pH might be lower.

Ya nutes are strain specific for sure. This is one reason why I started growing organic its more forgiving.

I've grown exclusively in dirt before this, sometimes organic and sometimes mineral-based.

It's definitely more forgiving, that's probably why I've been lazy. Results were usually good unless I really screwed something up.

Soilless cultivation seems more sensitive to the nutes and the micronutrients have to be supplied but it's also a lot quicker and to correct the problem. At least that's the way it seems so far. I think I'm liking the hempies.

I just gravitated to organics as it is were I get my best results. I screw up using bottled nutes too much and for some reason organics gives me larger yields and better quality as well as being less work. If I could get larger harvests with bottled nutes in soil or grow in coco I would but organics is were things click for me. I'm not consistent with bottled nutrients. It has nothing to do with me being an organic supporter its just were I have found my talent to lie.
