I have a dusty environment with a single pet to work with, Was wondering how important using a pre filter for my tents intake was ? considered going with a high cfm phresh pre filter for and unrestricted intake, picked up through a carbon filter and out through an inline and tubing for exhaust, is it a necessary step or could i get away with general cleanliness ? thanks for any thoughts and input, especially on size of ducting, cfm ratings and any other helpful tips for a 3dx4wx6t space

I'm having a little trouble understanding that so I'm gonna wing it. Why not put cheapo furnace filters over the rectangular intake vents on the tent and extract out the top of the tent through a carbon filter for the stinky? I think what you mean by pre-filter is intake filter. A pre-filter is what you put around a carbon filter to keep the dust out of the carbon. Expands it's life. An intake filter is what you use to filter the air coming into the tent.

Sorry in a bit of a rush here , this is what i meant exactly for intake : http://www.greners.com/phresh-intake-filter-8x12-460-cfm.html Def. worded that wrong.

Was wondering if it would be worth that mouth that externally from the tent, run a line in and then just pick it back up through the carbon filter / in line / ducting ---> out for exhaust like usual, or if it's not that big of a deal. Dust and minor summer shedding from my pupp are my only worries for contaminants in my grow environment.

What saying is to spend five bucks a piece on regular old furnace filters at the hardware store and somehow attach them over the rectangular vents at the bottom of the grow tent. It's not flashy, but it's cheap and works. The only place I'd use one of those fancy intake filters is somewhere where they grow so much pot that pollen kept sneaking in and seeding my plants. Read somewhere that that's a problem in Amsterdam.

excellent point, time for some experimentation ! thanks for your input
