I have 20 rrf going in 2.5 gallon containers. 3/4 ocean forest 1/4 perlite. I give each pot 1/4 gallon water. After 4 days the pots are still pretty moist . Humidity is at 50%. Does perlite retain water . The problem is I need to give my plants more nutes but I don't want to overwater. Any suggestions?

foliar feed if desperate, im in a similar situation but for different reasons. i dont think perlite holds onto water especially not that much anwyay. prop up your pots so air can get around the bottoms and make sure air is circulating alot, extractor fan and oscillating fans etc.

Perlite does not retain water. What kind of pots are you using?? Seems to me you may need more perlite next time around. Also RH is a bit high for flowering, and for veg, I prefer my RH a bit higher. I use don't use FFOF, but I use roots organic soil, with added perlite, about the same ratio as you, in 3 gallon smart pots. During flowering, I water 1 gallon each plant, and they need to be watered about once every 3 days. Wish I could be of more help, but I can't see how you can get better drainage, without adding more perlight to your mix. And with a grow going, that would be impossible.

Hopefully one of the more knowledgeable growers here can help you out.

You should be glad your pots stay moist ,when your plants get bigger they will dry out faster than you want, and if you giving them nutes at every water that might be a bit much. And I could be wrong but I just took some perlit from one of my pots and it was pretty damp so im pretty sure it holds water.
