Hi all,

Need a little help diagnosing this problem i have.

Looking to me like its a nitrogen problem but not 100% sure :(

Plants are from 15 to 17 days old and starting to yellow out on me from the bottom

Cheap organic soil mixed with a bit of perlite
Miracle grow all purpose 8-7-6 (i know its crap)
No way to test ph of water or soil (our city has a higher ph of around 7.5 or more for our water)

Been feeding at half dose of recomended untill today where they got full dose.

Heading to the shop either today or tomorrow for better nutes and that but just wanted an idea on whats wrong and what i need to fix it.

Thanks :D

I couldn't give you an exact answer shumway, but I do know that your pH is way too high. It's (probably) causing lockout and your plants not getting all the goodies.
(use pH up/down solutions or there are natural products like lemon juice or apple vinegar that you can use, but read up on how/ which ones first- I don't know the exact procedures.)

That is a strong dosage of fertilizer, if your pH isn't causing lockout, the high salt concentration in your soil might be...I would wait for someone with more experience to chime in though before making adjustments. I recomend getting one of the cheap color comparison pH test kits with some pH down if thats all you can do for now, it will save you alot in the long run.

I would say N

Perhaps but these plants are only a couple of weeks old. I can't imagine that they need any more nutes at that age since they've been getting MG soil and food. A full dose of that stuff is a lot for autos this young. I would guess salt buildup and/or lockout due to pH. When I had lockout problems before, it started with yellowing fan leaves which led to spotting and then total loss of the leaves.

If it was me, I'd get a pH test kit ASAP and flush them with some pHed water. A test kit for aquariums only costs a few bucks and would be better than nothing. Trying to give them more food without knowing the pH of the soil might make things worse.

Andy its just plain organic soil which had basically no nutriant value what so ever in it thats why i started with the nutes earlier.

Going to see what i can pick up for a ph tester and get my water worked out and do a flush then start over with better nutes and that..lol

Is the mix a seed starter? Because at least here in the US, the MG Organic line has 3 months of time release food in it. Either way, if you're getting some new nutes, it's probably a good idea to flush so you have a good starting point.

No it was just no name organic mix from the dollar store with the nutes listed at like .01-.01-.01 and the plants ate that up quik

and there small pots as well but Andy has a fair point 1-1-0.1 is next to nothing and useless for flower

agito the soil is what was listed as 01 - 01 - 01 and the plants ate that up right away so i started feeding with the 8-7-6 early

And ya the pots are only 2 litre bottles and not filled all the way with soil so what ever goes in gets used up real quik so things happen fast
