Pollinating a feminized plant?

Can someone please explain to me what differences this makes?

Are hermies more likely?

So by pollying a feminized plant (it came from a 'feminized seed') there's no increased risk of hermies in my seed batch? JM's guide confuses me to hell, it doesn't seem that there's an increased risk of hermies, but some sites say their should be -

Here's my thing;

If the plant wasn't hermie to begin with and was forced to become hermie to create feminized seeds, then why would it be more likely to become herm UNLESS forced?

yes femmed seeds have much higher tendency to be hermie... basically in eliminaing half of the contributing gentics... you're causing and instability in breeding... chances are much better if you use one plant to create femm pollen.. hen pollinate another plant with it... this reduces the possibility of herming... I believe... if someone else has me wrong... please correct me.

Ok, but by introducing pollen from a NORMAL plant to a FEMINIZED plant, does this create a new F1 with hermie tendencies or normal tendencies?

I.E:

NORMAL POLLEN --> 60D WONDER FEMINIZED = ????

I'm sorry if you've said it JM, I'm feeling pretty dumb right now but I'm not making much sense of any of this lol

not dumb... its confusing... lol... yes... the tendency will be higher for hermies... it may take up to 2 years to breed/select away from the hermies in the lot... yes it will create a new F1... I'm not sure what the hermie factor will be but some breeders only release fem seed partially for that reason... cuz you cant easily grab their strain and sell it... rip-stopper basically.. :)

ok... mustve misunderstood what I've read.... thanks for clearing it up TBM ! :thumbs:

So... if one wanted to take a feminized plant and be able to make seeds so you could have your own resource for said plant, would you force the plant to be a hermaphrodite, collect the pollen from the male part of the plant, pollinate either a clone from that plant or a new seeded fem plant, and take those seeds that start to breed out hermaphrodites until the line becomes stable? Which could take years... but is doable?

yes... but dont self pollinate the same plant... that does increase hermies... pollinate another plant of the same strain to carry the strain... you got it though... :thumbs:

however... I will say its very nice to drop seeds and know they are fem.... saves sexing later on.... I cant wait to get the cash together to get some more femmed blueberry seeds... and just go crazy! :)
