New Grower please help I could be hurting my baby....

Hi peeps..

I upgraded my oxypot airpump yesterday and it seems to have broken bits of root off the plan overnight.. The plant is not visually suffering yet(its looking sweet) but its only 10 days old and I dont wanna hurt it as the roots are young, will they get stronger and pull through or should I turn the flow down a bit??

Any advice on this would be very helpfull..

if its just minor damage it will be fine, the tap root is the most important to protect, a well developed rootball could be trimmed to half its size an woul still grow fine after a few days in 'shock'.
add some rhizotonic or rooting powder to your water to boost the roots growth.

I was worried ill be waking up to root soup in a few days if I left it.. I dont think its bad, just loadsa little bits in the res now.. Im guessin the taproot is the first one(the long one)?? I dont think it has that,was a fresh root (i ate it was like a cucumber tasting beansprout). Its good to know the roots can take some abuse, thanks dude.. I'll keep updated if my probs continue...

yeah the tap root is the main central root, it might surprise you how much abuse a mj plant will take, after all it aint called "weed" for nothing.

you'll be fine anyway, those roots will be replaced 2 fold by a few days time.

All that has been said is very true, I just wanted to add that you want to take any and all of the dead/floating pieces out before they rot and cause problems for the live root ball down the line....

Yea, I always lop off loads of my roots when they're in the cloners. Sometimes my roots will grow 40+ inches long with only 8-10 inches of top growth. So, I chop the roots down to about 10-12 inches and they start crazy lateral growth on the roots. Nice to see those warm & fuzzies.

cheers dude, I really dunno if iv got the balls to be cutting them!! They are really starting to pick up now with a 30inch tap root.. If and when they get to big ill come to you for help lol..
